We had an amazing time on board the Royal Caribbean's Adventure of the Seas on our seven night cruise of New England and Canada (July 27th through August 3rd, 2018). Our first stop was Portland (Maine) and we took the "Lighthouses of Maine" shore excursion. We could not get on the morning excursion, so ours left at 2pm in the afternoon. The timing might have been very optimal as it clouded up a bit and those amazing clouds that contributed to some fantastic pictures. The excursion provided visits to three lighthouses. The Spring Point Ledge Light is a sparkplug lighthouse built in 1897 and located in South Portland. These are pictures taken at the Spring Point Ledge Light include a few of Portland Head Light and the Adventure of the Seas at port. Taken on Sunday July 29th, 2018.

Pictures of the West Bank Light from on board the Royal Caribbean Anthem of the Seas at the beginning of our week-long cruise. The West Bank Light is a sparkplug lighthouse that dates from 1901 and is in the Lower New York Bay. It serves as the front range light with the Staten Island Lighthouse serving as the rear range. This guided ships into the Ambrose Channel. I was able to see a number of lighthouses in New York Harbor this trip. Pictures of the Robbins Reef Lighthouse from on board the Jewel of the Seas on Disembarkation Day - September 28th, 2023 as we returned from our fantastic voyage. The Robbins Reef Light is a sparkplug lighthouse that dates from 1883 (replacing a light that was built in 1839). It is very close to Cape Liberty in Bayonne, New Jersey. I was able to see a number of lighthouses in New York Harbor this trip. On board the Royal Caribbean Jewel of the Seas for a grand 14 day cruise to Greenland (September 14th through 28th, 2023). The cruise embarks from Cape Liberty (Bayonne, NJ) with an actual stop in Manhattan (a delay leaving NYC caused by Hurricane Lee); Nuuk, Qaqortoq & Nanortalik in Greenland; St.John's, Newfoundland before heading back to New York City. It was a grand adventure.
Plum Beach Light (Lighthouse), built in 1899, is a sparkplug lighthouse in North Kingstown, Rhode Island. The lighthouse was built using pneumatic caisson engineering. A granite base was added in 1922. The light was deactivated in 1941 when the first Jamestown Bridge was built. The light became dilapidated until 1999 when the Friends of Plum Beach Lighthouse received ownership of the lighthouse. The lighthouse is now listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

Pictures of the Romer Shoal Light from on board the Celebrity Summit at the beginning of our ten day cruise. The Romer Shoal Light is a sparkplug lighthouse that dates from 1898 and is in the Lower New York Bay. It is 2 and a half nautical miles north of Sandy Hook, New Jersey. I was using the 2x converter on the 100-400 lens and saw a few of the pictures also show the Sandy Hook Lighthouse in the background. I was surprised on a few to see the Navasink Twin Lights as well. Not sure there are many places where you can see three lighthouses at once! I was able to see a number of lighthouses in New York Harbor this trip. Conimicut Light, built in 1883, is a historic sparkplug lighthouse in Warwick, Rhode Island. The lighthouse is listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1988. The lighthouse is said to be in "relatively good condition."[2]
The lighthouse was built in 1883 using pneumatic caisson engineering. The light replaced an earlier 1868 light. Conimicut Lighthouse was automated in the 1960s and was one of the last acetylene gas powered lights to switch to electricity. The City of Warwick acquired the light in 2004. Initially the city planned to restore the lighthouse, but a federal grant for this purpose failed to come through. Subsequently, the city is considering various plans, including leasing it to a tourism company to be converted into a bed-and-breakfast inn.

Transformers Armada Optimus Prime is something I've been wanting to try and build with Lego since late 2017/early 2018. Back then, the available parts at the time meant that building it up to my standards of articulation with reasonable stability would have been borderline impossible. So I ended up shelving the project for several years while I practiced building other things. This was BEFORE it was announced that a new Armada Prime Transformer toy was in the works.
Fast forward to last year, 2022. Lego started producing new ratchet joint parts that were more compact of multiple sizes. Combined with the re-emergence of Armada Transformer toys, I was re-inspired, and knew my time was now to get this project done. I'd had a lot of time to think about it, so I started tinkering with the build, this time fully intent on finishing the project.
I have a tendency to be a perfectionist, which causes me to over-stress over the details. I wanted it ALL out of this Lego MOC: A fully functional Armada Optimus Prime figure with truck cab and trailer, cab robot and and base mode, and most importantly the super mode combination. All with the most articulation I could manage, with all necessary features, accessories, and even both Minicons! The only thing I wasn't worried about was the motorized gimmicks lol, because as cool as the original leader class toy was, I still wished it had knees.
Thank the Lord Jesus, after a year of building, and the last month preparing a video to showcase it (a kind that I had never done before, plus I hate the sound of my own voice lol), it is FINALLY DONE. The project is now complete!
The Armada version of Optimus Prime is a bit obscure these days, but the original deluxe-class figure was my first ever Transformer, and I have fond memories of it, so I'll never forget it. I hope that those who recognize it will like this Lego version! I'm glad to have finally gotten it done.
