We had an amazing time on board the Royal Caribbean's Adventure of the Seas on our seven night cruise of New England and Canada (July 27th through August 3rd, 2018). Our first stop was Portland (Maine) and we took the "Lighthouses of Maine" shore excursion. We could not get on the morning excursion, so ours left at 2pm in the afternoon. The timing might have been very optimal as it clouded up a bit and those amazing clouds that contributed to some fantastic pictures. The excursion provided visits to three lighthouses. The Spring Point Ledge Light is a sparkplug lighthouse built in 1897 and located in South Portland. These are pictures taken at the Spring Point Ledge Light include a few of Portland Head Light and the Adventure of the Seas at port. Taken on Sunday July 29th, 2018.

The Robbins Reef Light Station is a sparkplug lighthouse located off Constable Hook in Bayonne, Hudson County, New Jersey, United States, along the west side of Main Channel, Upper New York Bay. The tower and integral keepers quarters were built in 1883. It replaced an octagonal granite tower built in 1839. The U.S. Coast Guard owned and operated the light station until the 2000s.

The light is located on a small ridge of sand named Robyn's Rift by the Dutch settlers of the area. The reef is now called Robbins Reef. It is situated near the entrance to the Kill van Kull, a strait connecting New York Bay to Newark Bay. The channel is one of the most heavily used in the Port of New York and New Jersey, accessing Port Newark-Elizabeth Marine Terminal.

The light was added to the National Register of Historic Places on July 19, 2006.

The beautiful Baltimore Harbor Light during embarkation day onboard the Royal Caribbean Vision of the Seas for an eight night cruise from Baltimore, Maryland to the Southeastern United States and the Bahamas (February 16th, 2024 to February 24th, 2024). The Baltimore Harbor Light is a sparkplug lighthouse near the Bay Bridge. The Light was first lit in 1908 and the focal height of the light is 52 feet. Since we left right on time, we were able to see it beautifully on the Starboard side (right) as we headed down the Chesapeake Bay. The cruise embarks from Baltimore, Maryland with stops in Charleston, South Carolina; Port Canaveral, Florida; Freeport, Grand Bahama Island, Bahamas, and Nassau, Bahamas, before returning back to Baltimore.

Plum Beach Light (Lighthouse), built in 1899, is a sparkplug lighthouse in North Kingstown, Rhode Island. The lighthouse was built using pneumatic caisson engineering. A granite base was added in 1922. The light was deactivated in 1941 when the first Jamestown Bridge was built. The light became dilapidated until 1999 when the Friends of Plum Beach Lighthouse received ownership of the lighthouse. The lighthouse is now listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

Sparks is on the move.

Only one sparkplug was used--and that wasn't even necessary. The Minsk made it, nearly intact, nearly delivering us safe and nearly sound to our destination.
