Pictures of the Robbins Reef Light from on board the Royal Caribbean Anthem of the Seas at the beginning of our week-long cruise. The Robbins Reef Light is a sparkplug lighthouse that dates from 1883 (replacing a light that was built in 1839). It is very close to Cape Liberty in Bayonne, New Jersey. I was able to see a number of lighthouses in New York Harbor this trip. On board the Royal Caribbean Anthem of the Seas for the Seven Night Labadee & Puerto Plata Cruise (November 6th through 13th, 2022). The cruise embarks from Cape Liberty (Bayonne, NJ) with stops at Labadee, Haiti and Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic before heading back to New York City. The itinerary changed after Hurricane Nicole canceled our planned stops.

The Romer Shoal Light is a sparkplug lighthouse that dates from 1898 and is in the Lower New York Bay. It is 2 and a half nautical miles north of Sandy Hook, New Jersey. A few of the pictures also show the Sandy Hook Lighthouse in the background. I was able to see a number of lighthouses in New York Harbor this trip. I know this may seem like odd subject matter, I was just really drawn to their shapes and the way they caught the light. They're old and dirty, taken out of my dad's motorcycle. But still very sculptural.
Looking for a little spark for the imagination and inspiration for my thoughts.... An unexpected reflection served as a temporary reward, but the corroded tip is obviously a carry over for the long-term. Nevertheless, the intrigue of such a component kept me occupied for a number of photographic shots.
As this is composed, members of the Florida legislature are debating a law which would change public education in our state...and not for the better IMHO. Rather than accept the challenge of true reform for 21st century world, these representatives are choosing to ride the 'performance testing train'. The governor has vowed to veto the bill, but to see this much agreement amongst the legislators is disconcerting. It does make me wonder about the 'kool-aid'?!?! Naples, FL

This pesky sparkplug! Actually, Damon is a VERY good mechanic. He puts a gel on each plug before installing it, and even though the gap is supposed to be universal, he adjusts it by millimetres to make it right for my particular engine! That's care!

Naast de muziek als rode draad biedt Sparkplug artiesten op visueel gebied een kans om hun beelden met de optredende acts te combineren. Verder zullen ook Spoken Word artiesten via Sparkplug hun gedachtenspinsels loslaten in de wereld. Tot slot is er een vast terugkerend element van jonge en baanbrekende kunstenaars die met verschillende voortbrengselen hun kijk op de wereld zullen weergeven. Sparkplug streeft ernaar om naast de muzikale area een artsection neer te zetten waar je als bezoeker in aanraking komt met een sterk staaltje “out of the box thinking” door diverse kunstenaars uit Den Haag en omstreken.
Het platvorm Sparkplug wordt vormgegeven in (twee)maandelijkse evenementen, interactiviteit via de website en het aangaan van partnerschappen met organisaties binnen en buiten Den Haag.
