Reflections (Spot the W!) My group took a trip to Uvita on the Pacific coast of Costa Rica, and we had a fantastic time exploring the most beautiful stretch of beach.

Living with a host family while on program was an incredible experience, and one thing I really enjoyed was learning about Costa Rican food from my host mom. This photo is of patacones, fried plantains molded into a bowl to hold fillings like refried beans, cheese and meat.

One of my favorite aspects about traveling was seeing the different billboards promoting similar products that I see in the US. This billboard features the tagline "Bucketear" (not a real word to be clear), which I found to be a very funny combination of the Spanish language and an American product.

One of my favorite memories on the program was going a picnic in the central park of San Jose. We went to an organic farmers market and then walked to the park, and finished the day at a free art museum.
