SOOC, with and without the Lightscoop. The pic on the left (with the lightscoop) is a bit underexposed, but I can fix that. I definitely like it better than the flash shot on the right. (And so did Zelda - luckily, I took the flash shots last, because she didn't stick around!)
In both shots, I kept the settings fully automatic. I'm sure that if I went manual with the lightscoop, I'd get a much better exposure. But it's good to know that even on automatic, it gets a much better shot.

Finished the first slipper I started Friday night. This is a really clever, easy pattern, even for a crochet novice like me. And how cute is the finished product?!?
I don't think I'll make the second one, as this yarn isn't really working for this project. The gauge is super-loose, and this superwash is going to grow like crazy, I can tell. I think a non-superwash wool or an acrylic blend will work a little better for me.
I desperately needed a haircut, and to save some money (I love Hannah, but she's $$) I went to eat-Gray ips-Clay yesterday. I wasn't too thrilled with the cut I got there, but figured I just needed to work with it.
Today, I colored my hair and styled it the way I liked it and I can definitely live with the results. Phew! Crisis averted.
Last November, while hiking atop the Sleeping Bear Dunes, I found this strange and mysterious object. I'm pretty sure it is from outer space because the letters "space" were etched into it.

Super quick hat I whipped up this weekend. The Amanda Hat pattern, in Malabrigo (colorway: Pagoda). I'm planning to make a matching cowl and possibly handwarmers to match.
It is very, very hard to get the white balance right in this room. The dull green walls and compact fluorescent lights are making it really hard to adjust the colors correctly, even in Photoshop Elements or Picnik. The hat color is just about right, though.

This is one of my GMDS nail polishes! I've worn them all (and loved them) but didn't photograph them until now. This is super dark maroon red which looks really dark brown in some light. It's very vampy and pretty, and perfect for fall.

I love Shakespeare. In my 20s, I auditioned for every Shakespeare play that I could, and spent most summers on stage spouting iambic pentameter. I've played Bianca (twice!), Beatrice, Celia, and Olivia, among others. I met Mr. Martini when I was cast as Silvia to his Valentine in a production of "The Two Gentlemen of Verona."
