Joshua demonstriert die Größe eines J-1 Triebwerkes. Drei davon treiben ein Space Shuttle an. 8 davon wären notwendig um so viel Schub zu produzieren wie ein einziges F-1 Triebwerk der Saturn V.

 

Joshua demonstrates the size of a J-1 engine. Three of these power the space shuttle. Eight would be necessary to produce as much thrust as just one of the F-1 engines that powered the Saturn V.

The shuttle, its attendant 747, and the T-38 escort keeping it company, made a few more passes before heading on to Udvar-Hazy, but none so close to me as this one.

The shuttle Endeavour entered a low cloud deck.

Not really pleased with the shots I got, but thrilled to have witnessed the final flight of the Endeavour as it comes to live here in Los Angeles

This was my first dusk launch, and i have to say it was the prettiest one yet.
