Our refrigerator stopped being cold on Friday. At first we thought that maybe just the door was left open or something, but then it became clear that it wasn't in fact doing anything except circulating air inside. Had to throw away most of the things in the freezer (not a huge loss, since we've been only stocking the fridge lightly while our kitchen is being worked on).
We eventually determined that the compressor isn't doing anything except getting really really hot, and that the next step would be to schedule a service repair guy to come. Sears has an insurance program for $219 that pays for parts and labor for a year for repairs. Since a new compressor would cost ~ $260 for the parts alone, it makes sense to just pay the additional amount that they want.
And interactive intallation (game) at Offf, Portugal. Space invaders on a touch sensitive screen. You had to hit the invaders with the balls. It took a bunch of us to save earth.
