First time visiting the Vineland drive in movie theater in Industry, CA. $8.50 gets you admission to a double feature of first-run movies. Sound is played back through FM radio, restroom is clean, and the snack bar offers a selection of snacks.

The sound broadcast is described by the staff as Dolby Stereo over FM. By listening, it appears the sound is played off the optical tracks (audible noises in sync with film scratches, etc). The sound also tended to be a bit overdriven. boomy, and at times static-y, but otherwise useable.

I think it'd be fun to decode the 4 encoded channels within the Dolby Stereo stream. In lieu of an actual decoder, perhaps it can be implemented as a DSP using kx project driver.
