...Το ξυπόλυτο αγόρι έφτασε τώρα στο γεφύρι όπου αντάμωναν ο δρόμος με τον ποταμό και κάνανε σταυρό. Από δω θα περάσει, να χωθεί στους σκούρους μαχαλάδες. Απ'αυτό το παλιό γεφύρι που τα θεμέλια του τρέμουνε απ' το βιαστικό νερό. Αυτό το ποτάμι από αύριο θα μπει στη μικρή του ζωή.
....δε βρήκε το χωριό με τα χαρούμενα παιδιά γιατί τα σύννεφα που κυνηγούσε ήταν λυτά και φεύγανε.
