A shot taken for Looking close...on Friday.

Na mazurskiej łące....

Photograph taken for the group "Smile on Saturday".

Taken back on August31st/September 1st... The aurora was out in full force.

It was truly a great display of the Aurora Borealis.

If anyone is interested... I did make a time lapse of all my images I took from that night. 3.5 hours of shooting was condensed into 36 seconds haha.

I never tire of this view of St Paul's Cathedral from the South Bank, taking in the Millenium Bridge. Posted for Sliders Sunday

Seagull in flight

I could not get down low enough to focus so i just held camera down there and hoped for the best. I was pretty pleased with this close up of Mrs Ant enjoying a feast of blackfly!

This tree stood on a ridge near Johnstons' five miles from the blast at one time when suddenly it and it's beautiful surroundings were obliterated in an instant. I've watched the pics turned into motion shots many times and the blocked in power released that Sunday still astounds me.

Alvin Harp mentioned recently that he felt a sadness when his favorite pics fell off the front page and my first thought was Saint Helens. Tonia and I were going to go down there tonight and get some good light in the morning but my 14 hour day at work put the kibosh on that so in the meantime, take a moment and look at this place, I hope that I'm not alone in my fascination. :-)

Czysta woda i piękny kwiat :-) /

Clear water and beautiful flower :-)

It is very rare to see reflections in this neck of the woods. Normally it is quite windy. I lucked out one night a few weeks ago.

This is the bridge right before Spray Lakes Day Use Area.

Boats moored along the bank of the Cam just before the lock gates at Waterbeach.

The photograph was taken in the gardens of the National Memorial Arboretum. One busy bee with so many blooms to visit.

Anglesey Abbey is a large house with massive gardens in the village of Lode about four miles from Cambridge. It is owned by the National Trust now but used to be owned by Lord Fairhaven. The garden include a fabulous display of Dahlias, it stretches about 150 yards and is about four yards deep. There are Dahlias of most colours, types and sizes.

If you ever find yourself a tourist in our fair state put Snoqualmie Falls on your to do list. Wheel chair accessible and a short walk from the parking lot brings you to this view. This is how my shooting day ended after that amazing sunrise that btw Jon Dobyns got from here, look him up, way better light and frankly photographer. :-) here is a video of it. youtu.be/a0c70cD8o9U

Another view of the stunning 90 mile beach, I have quite a few images to go....

A photograph I took yesterday trying to see if I could keep the detail in the red of the petals...and failed.

The church of St Mary the Virgin in Fen Ditton, taken from the other side of the River Cam. I had taken photographs of the church many times, but I thought it would be nice to get the reflections in the water. The church was visited in 1543 by William Dowsing the iconist, who defaced statues and crucifixes. He was paid a noble, about a third of a pound for his work.

This wonderful spot is unmarked but very near the Carbon River entrance to Rainier. There is a terrific spot for a picnic to the left of this totally in the shade.

I took a dozen shots of this place and never felt that I got the scene so to the shelf they went. Go find this place for yourself, as cool as this shot is, it doesn't do it justice.

The map marker is a rough guess, there is a small bridge over this stream so it should be easyish to find.

please push 'L' ..... :-)

On Monday I managed to get to Anglesey Abbey to see their excellent display of Roses and Dahlias. The Dahlia display is quite breath taking being set in an arc, it is about 400 yards long and about ten yards deep. The blooms range from over 6 ft high at the back to about three foot in the front. At one end they are pure white, then cream, yellow and so on right to the deepest red. I tried but couldn't get the whole display in. More shots to follow.

Wiosenna zieleń w parku Kępa Potocka w Warszawie /

Spring green in the park - Warsaw, Poland

This was taken looking towards the lock gates on the River Cam near Waterbeach. I have given it a sepia finish and then aged the photograph with a textured layer and then blended them.

This is Tahoma creek, on this day it's mild mannered and beautiful as it dances and drops it's way off of the mountain, but as you can see by the erosion taking place on Rampart and Emerald Ridges, the stand of trees of a lost forest and the other trees tossed aside it can have it's bad days like the one when it helped to wipe out Sunshine Point Campground in 2006. It does get some amazing views on it's short ride to the Nisqually river below.

Taken for the group "Looking close... on Friday".

I took this at a country show a while back and while I think it is a long-eared Owl it could be an Eagle Owl, either way it is a magnificent bird.

A bee busily harvests the nectar on an allium in the gardens of Anglesey Abbey. The house and gardens are owned by The National Trust.

Taken a while ago now but the shrub is still there and I look forward to seeing this sight very soon.
