The present Stirling Old Bridge was built in the 1400s or 1500s, replacing a succession of timber bridges. Undoubtedly the best-known of these was one that stood nearby in the 1290s, when Sir William Wallace and Sir Andrew Moray defeated Edward I’s forces at the Battle of Stirling Bridge in 1297. www.historicenvironment.scot/visit-a-place/places/stirlin...

jpeg edited in Lightroom on my phone

Tried to catch a snake on a gorgon's head...

An escape or possibly a bird bred here from escaped parents

Taken with the camera resting on my knee at 1/13 seconds!

Chinon 50mm f1.9, a little gem of a lens. Slightly missed focus on the tallest of these, but that's all down to user error!

So called because silver was found here; there is an abandoned mine close by dating from the 17th Century

Another one with the RMC Tokina 35mm

Again... but they're hard to resist....

This is a male bird, the bird in my other shots is the female, slightly larger and somewhat darker
