The elusive otter is one of our top predators, feeding mainly on fish (particularly eels and salmonids), waterbirds, amphibians and crustaceans. Otters have their cubs in underground burrows, known as 'holts'. Excellent and lithe swimmers, the young are in the water by 10 weeks of age. Otters are well suited to a life on the water as they have webbed feet, dense fur to keep them warm, and can close their ears and nose when underwater. They require clean rivers, with an abundant source of food and plenty of vegetation to hide their secluded holts.
How to identify
The otter is a large, powerful mammal, with grey-brown fur, a broad snout, and a pale chest and throat. Otters can be distinguished from mink by their much larger size and broader face.
Distribution
A rare but widespread species, now found throughout the country but absent from parts of central and southern England, the Isle of Man, the Isles of Scilly and the Channel Islands (Courtesy the Wildlife Trusts).

Snow buntings are large buntings, with striking 'snowy' plumages. Males in summer have all white heads and underparts contrasting with a black mantle and wing tips. Females are a more mottled above. In autumn and winter birds develop a sandy/buff wash to their plumage and males have more mottled upperparts.
Globally, they breed around the arctic from Scandinavia to Alaska, Canada and Greenland and migrate south in winter. They are a scarce breeding species in the UK, in Scotland, making them an Amber List species. They are more widespread in winter in the north and east when residents are joined by continental birds.
They are listed under Schedule 1 of the Wildlife & Countryside Act.
What they eat:Seeds and insects (Courtesy RSPB).

Well as the sun started to go down them light was hitting what I belive is Tingle Peak and creating this wonderful pink hue. it didn't last very long but we were able to capture a few snaps before the sun went down. Kris..
Sometimes, when I see an image, I hear 'sound'. It's strange how even a completely static, silent, frozen moment can evoke or transition to this sensation. That's why I named this 'Rainy Reverb' rather than 'Rainy Reflection'
Tropical Kingbirds are ubiquitous in Middle and South America. These yellow-bellied flycatchers are about 8 inches (20 cm) tall and fly very fast, darting in and out of trees and branches, making them rather hard to photograph.
This one was perched on top of a tall tree only for a few seconds and I was lucky to catch this shot in the Playa Linda area of Ixtapa, Mexico.
Thank you for your views, faves and comments.

This bridge over a beautiful little waterfall is at the end of a road with no sign to even identify it. I was given directions by a local who had been there before. I got there just in time as school got out and it was soon crowded by teenagers 😝😂
