This is our local falls just after the deluge of rain we had late last year. Must get up there more often.

Happy Friday out there :)

Somersby Falls, 2nd drop

#Lookingclose...onFriday! #Bottles

Somersby Falls, Central Coast, NSW, Australia.

Somersby Falls walking track winds down to the bottom of the falls along a graceful 100m path, with lookout stops along the way. This is a great walk at any time of year, but it really shines in the summer months, when the cool spray offers a respite from the heat, and after heavy rains, when the falls are particularly striking.

Somsersby Falls, first drop.

For those that will ever read this due to the new layout i've had this comp at Somersby in mind for a while now. Been there a few times previously and the conditions weren't right. This time however I finally got what I was after. Thanks for viewing.

Somersby Falls, NSW. It was beautiful on the forest floor... moss covered rocks, lush green plants and the sound of these beautiful waterfalls.

This small but very beautiful waterfall is at Somersby Falls. I spent some time here alone photographing. It was lovely to hear the gentle falling of the water, it was very relaxing.

Today I took a trip to the Central Coast, just south of where I live. There has been rain this week, so it was a good time to visit Somersby Falls. This is only one of the waterfalls, I will have to go back and investigate the others. You have to walk down stone stairs, but needed to be careful as they were wet and muddy!! Hope you enjoy:)

Brisbane Water National Park, Central Coast

Another one of a series of waterfalls along Floods Creek in Brisbane Water National Park, near Gosford and very close to the Australian Reptile Park.

One hour drive North of Sydney.

While not technically perfect,it was the best I could come up with at my first waterfall attempt. It was pouring rain and mucking around with the tripod was out of the question as I was like a drowned rat!.The image ended up being handheld at just a little over i second.Because of the wind moving the vegetation on the left,I applies a vignette blur to that side of the image in colour efex pro

Here's another Somersby Falls (Central Coast, NSW; Australia) image I took a fair while ago.

Hope you like it - best viewed Large on Black!!!

This is one of a series of waterfalls along Floods Creek in Brisbane Water National Park, near Gosford and very close to the Australian Reptile Park.

Many families come to picnic here after visiting the Park. These are not my kids but they were nice enough not to move much for my long exposure photo.

I took a series of photos there, but this is the only one with a sunny aspect, as the sun moved a lot in and out of clouds that day. Mostly in.

This is a BIG file - so be sure to view Large on Black please!!

Wishing each of you a wonderful day, weekend and week ahead!!

Nothing beats the sounds and coolness of moving water of a waterfall as I experienced today with great mate and fellow Flickr Tog Archie Mccafferty.

2013 shoot with good mate Grant Galbraith. recent rains have turned the falls into a raging torrent

A small waterfall off the track at Somersby.

So my camera has hardly been touched this year. On a rainy morning a few weeks ago I decided to dust it off while driving up the coast to visit family and stop in at Somersby Falls just north of Sydney.

When I shot this the rain was absolutely bucketing down, I was precariously perched between two rocks with my trusty tripod somehow reaching it's anchor points at angles I'm sure it wasn't made to reach.

I think the volume of rain in the days before had really built up the water levels and the waterfall was really peaking - which was certainly fun but also resulted in some muddy brown water which was a little unfortunate.

None-the-less - it felt good simply being back out with the camera. I'm not sure how many opportunities ill have over the next few months to get out and shoot but fingers crossed they aren't to few and far between.

Press "L" to view this large on black and, as always, thanks for looking!

Had the chance to stop at Somersby. A little water flow and some nice colour.

Visited Somersby Falls (Central Coast, NSW; Australia) yesterday with long time friend and fellow flickr tog Joe Micallef.

We were expecting it to be quiet due to it being the start of school holidays here at present - how wrong we were!!!!

I managed to get this image without having to wait or ask people to move out of frame (apart from Joe that is!!) :-))

The light was tricky here due to the variations in dynamic range and the position of the sun rising above the canopy of the trees - hope you like it anyway!

** Best if viewed Large on Black!! **

Thanks for any comments, views or favorites - always apprecaited!!

Have a fantastic day and week everyone!!
