Serendipitous arrangement...
I didn’t arrange them...must have been like that since I dumped the dominoes into the bowl...I just now noticed the eyes...and someone drew them on the white dots. A mystery...
Someone at Rich Grissom Memorial Wetlands pointed out to us that there was a caracara eating a fish in a field near one of the bodies of water. We found this female with the very big fish where they had said; she held the fish up for us to see. She is banded as can be seen. She was taking turns eating the fish with a male, not banded, that was nearby and came back after this shot. A person there said that the fish was alive when he got there. It was such a big fish that one of the photographers said that he would take the leftovers home for family supper.
We are not sure of the differences and subspecies classifications of Audubon crested caracara, Florida crested caracara, and Mexico's crested caracara but believe the Florida crested caracara is listed as threatened in Florida. The subspecies Audubon crested caracara is federally listed as threatened.
Anyone know what kind of fish this is? From comparison with fish pictures on the internet our guess would be tilapia, but it's just a guess.
