How many people can remember that red plastic container of bubble solution with the stick inside that you can blow through to make bubbles? This is thought I had when I rested my tripod on Cannon Beach on the Oregon Coast.
The weight of the sky and all of its fabulous sunset glory was a perfect way to cap off an incredible day in the Pacific Northwest of the USA.
Quatrième photo d'une série de quatre sur les changements climatiques.
La conférence sur les changements climatiques de Paris est en cours, c'est le temps de réfléchir et de savoir ce que nous allons faire avec ce que l'on sait.
Fourth photo of a series of four on climate change.
The climate change conference in Paris is happening now, it is time to reflect and take action. What will we do with what we know?
With heartfelt and genuine thanks for your kind visit. Have a wonderful and beautiful day, be well, keep your eyes open, appreciate the beauty surrounding you, enjoy creating, stay safe and laugh often! ❤️❤️❤️
What does it take to understand that guns kill? Why do we insist upon having guns? Can we think, instead of being governed by fear?
Violence only adds to more violence. Start with eliminating poverty and creating more equality thereby eliminating squalor, indignity, hunger, death and desperation. Try a little love, it goes a long way and does not create violence! History repeats itself, violence has never been and never will be the solution, helping one another in a peaceful way does make a difference, the damage has been done, so it won't be easy but it is better than violence.
Thank you for your kind visit. Have a wonderful and beautiful day! xo💜💜
When it gets hot at midday, Timmy goes to our bed. He lies down so that I can lie comfortably next to him and stroke him 😊
Paws pressed against the wall gives the right body tension 😉
Happy Caturday 10.8.2024 "Weather"
Not the solution to a problem, but one of the many causes.
Union Pacific's new Roseville, California to Los Angeles, California (Fourth Street) manifest blasts through the west switch at Thornton, with clear rails as it heads for the Fresno Subdivision at El Pinal as it's journey for the LA Basin continues after meeting the Interstate 5 Z-train at Phillips.
Big changes are on the horizon as, these trains are meant to act as a replacement for the LA Basin Hauler; as Union Pacific's efforts to transform the Hump Yard at West Colton into a Intermodal Ramp pick up the pace (should become a West Coast version of the Global 2/Proviso arrangement in Illinois). Once the train gets down to the Los Angeles area it will set-out it's Chino, Mira Loma and Kaiser area traffic at Montclair which is being heavily retrofitted as well before arriving at Fourth Street. Only time will tell if this is a good move in the long run, as Roseville which hasn't really had any modernization projects since the Southern Pacific days is hard pressed to get these trains; out let alone process and block out the new influx of loose car traffic from the far corners of the system.
At least the searchlights are here still, then again their time is also fast approaching..
Amsterdam - Admiralengracht / Van Kinsbergenstraat.
Residential block, built in 1926 to a design by Bureau Gulden and Geldmaker.
This block does have an unmistakable "Amsterdam School" appearance, especially due to the attractive corner solution.
Architects Gulden and Geldmaker excel in usually more sober designs, but they could indeed come up with expressive designs (amsterdamse-school.nl).
The Amsterdam School is a style of architecture that arose from 1910 through about 1930 in the Netherlands. The Amsterdam School movement is part of international Expressionist architecture, sometimes linked to German Brick Expressionism (Wp).
Summer is winding down, and my yard is alive with pollinators. Butterflies are passing through everyday and the plants in my yard- like the butterfly bush- are a solution for their need for a tasty solution of sugary nectar. For 125 in 2025 #88 Solution

The Landsborough (right) and Clarke (far left) rivers, part of the Landsborough Wilderness Area, are separated by the Solution Range, at centre.
The two sticks hold aloft two strands of thick soft cord soaked in bubble solution, one short and one long. When the sticks are pulled apart a sort of hoop is formed between the two strands, and slight wind or movement can balloon out extremely large long bubbles. I would have liked to see just how long these large sausage shaped bubbles could last, and whether they would separate into a string of bubbles, or simply shrink into one gigantic bubble.
But as usual the competitively destructive children outnumbered the co-operatively scientifically curious :-)
The bubble surfaces shimmered with iridiscent reflections. Very hard to catch in a photograph, not sure why.
Photographed at the western end of the eastern section of Princes Street Gardens, just by the Art Gallery.

Quelle honte!
