We saw the very worst in human beings this past Friday.
But after watching the news tonight, I thought we also saw the very best.
I was struck by the fellow in the cafe who put himself in front of a woman as a shield. He died, she lived because of him.
Or the man who pulled the pregnant woman who was hanging out the window of the second floor of the theatre. He put himself in potential danger to help a fellow human being.
There may be rough days ahead, but thankfully I think there is enough who rise above to get us through.

When everything is too little and you are at the mercy of the meteorological phenomenon.

A busy night at Ballycopeland Windmill for photographers, with everyone looking for an ideal position at the front of the windmill I had this view to myself.
Flowers are like people, we go together so very well, no matter what?

I left this photo last in my series of a beautful day! Some are lucky to have family, home, food, love. Some others like the man in the photo are not so lucky. Whicever is the celebration of any religion, one thing is for sure that we trully need. Solidariity and love!

Me protecting front-line workers--all of whom, in this case, were people of color and/or immigrants--during the pandemic.
The procedure was joint repair, not related to infectious disease. In and out in half an hour. Maybe when the crisis passes, I'll get a haircut. Maybe. Please note that my mustache looks better than my mask.
The safety pin has become a symbol in the U.S. following the presidential election, a symbol being worn by millions as a show of solidarity with people of color, immigrants, LGBTQ people, religious minorities, and others facing targeted violence by some Trump supporters. It's a small but bright bit of hope for those who now are living in fear in a country that has gone very, very dark in the blink of an eye.
My personal rule of thumb is simple: We are all in this together.

A favorite local mural of mine. that has been rescued for the time being. The property had been owned by a church, and the city of Elkhart recently purchased it to aide re-development in the area. "Save Kelby's Mural" launched an effort to preserve the mural, regardless of what redevelopment efforts may be planned for the future.
