Solid Snake
I don't think I've ever been as excited to get a new figure as I was today. Hands down, my favorite figure of all time.
Solid Snake and Cyborg Ninja by Play Arts Kai.
Image inspired by a fight scene in MGS: Twin Snakes for the Gamecube. Snake only had the Socom in that scene, but whatever. Didn't play that version of the game because the cinematic sequences were too over the top for my taste.
Notes:
Only fx in this shot is a slight brightness and saturation enhancement to Ninja's eye. A less time consuming switch for me. :-p
When I was home from Uni I sat and built the ZEKE from MGS Peace Walker. Better photos may follow in a couple of months (when I am back home again).
Metal Gear Solid, the game which back in 1998 gripped me and through subsequent games became a huge part of my life. When I lost my arm in 2016 I had to stop playing this game and the wider series. Now, through the Nintendo Switch the game is rereleased today for a new audience and for me to fall in love with again following a 3d printed adaptation for the switch console.
I'm eager to get back into the world of Solid Snake and this is a little tribute I built to celebrate the series.
Kept you waiting, Huh?
Artwork of this event benefited the Regional Food bank and all featured art related to Metal Gear Solid and/or Kanye West.

Solid Snake, or Old Snake, as he appears in Metal Gear Solid 4.
KJ was awesome enough to trade me the AMA vest. :)
Solid Snake was another one of those figs that went through various versions (Cloud Strife, Link, and the Black Mage would be the others).
The Concept was made some time in 2007. Essentially purist and limited, it is the best I can do. A year later, BrickForge released the Space Marine (now Powered Assault Commando) Armor. I used it for the Sneaking Suit that Snake wears and came up with the V1 fig. I also gave him a BrickArms SOCOM.
In 2010, I commissioned BrickForge for some Dark Blue variants of the armor and sponsored it (I am the one to thank for its existence. You're welcome), and later made a V2 fig. V2 was basically a palette swap of V1, but making him darker in tone like in the game. This version was also used for my Series 2 of Video Game Minifigs.
The Purist fig was made not long after the V2 fig, and was hoping to make it into something more, but I later scrapped the idea. I revisited the idea later in 2011 using the pieces from Alien Conquest and made another Purist Solid Snake, and dubbing it V3 because I was satisfied with how it looks.
V4 was made the same day as V3 because I just strapped the Dark Blue armor on and switched out the guns.
V5 is basically taking V2 and smoothing out the details, and sporting the Sneaking Suit right on the torso. I gave him my fave BrickWarriors item, the FAMAS. V5 will later become a V6.

My first female custom. First time I try a breast implant "surgery" and first time I gave swivel wrist to a custom.
Hope you will enjoy her. Comments are welcome and expected. :)
