Softening Edges
Heading out of town this morning but did a quick snap of this rose using my Lens Baby Velvet 56 and edited with a texture.
I haven't been on Flickr much lately and neither have I used my camera much. Maybe I just need to re-charge my own batteries without work and other "must".
This image felt soothing to me, taken outside Guelph, Canada last year. I have soften the image quite a bit by reducing the clarity. Have a lovely weekend whatever you are and enjoy!

~Story People~ (one of my favourite story peoples)
I hope you don't get sick of seeing my kids over the next little while but I have been photgraphing them like crazy so that I can play with the lighting and also play with photoshop. I downloaded a free trial of CS2. I know it's old but it gives me 30 days to play., I have been running some actions that I got a while back. This is a Lilyblue Lightroom preset (Azalia) and a Lilyblue Photoshop action (Honey).
So after I ran the honey action in CS2 I brought it over to picnik to smooth the skin a wee bit.. not too much because i don't think children need all that much work!.. I do like picniks skin smoothing function.
Here I have the light coming in from the side of her face. A little hard to get the correct exposure but I like it :)
Softening us up for what's coming.

Vertical Variation...Softened...The Frozen Mississippi River on the Minnesota/Wisconsin border...the Mississippi begins from the snow/rainfall runoff in this area and round about...Also, smack dab on the Mississippi Flyway for you duck watchers...the swans have returned here!!! Taken while sitting on a frozen part of my anatomy that was in constant contact with the snow as I got down low to get this shot! It didn't hurt until it thawed out! Color for impact-black and white for detail. Happy New Year! Notice the animal footprints on right of rock...raccoon? deer? wombat? There may be frozen elves buried like popsicles here...

Remember This (James Watkins)
Remember this-
cold December's morning-
(beauty- without warming-)
cold reflective stream.
Remember this-
violent red waiting,
day-glow by the window,
silent-
evergreen.
As sun steps up to
start the daily song,
quietness inside says,
take one step-
alone.
Build your golden dreams-
on visions,
tarried long-
wronged by waiting hours-
long-lived, doubt delayed.
Join the journey homeward,
turn back to yesterday.
Take one step- face tomorrow-
look it in the eye-
take it on.
Forever waits at daybreak,
shines suddenly like the dawn.
Memories rise from roads never taken.
Faces from forgotten pasts,
dare to dream the dream
and not be shaken,
dare to touch the fire at last.
Heart speaks to heart,
spirit to spirit,
stand strong faced
to meet the day-
we will walk,
in paths less taken-
secret signs
to guide the way.
Hope hung highways,
misted mountains-
fears run dry,
bereft of snow.
We will fly
in unknown places,
we will burn
and not grow cold.
Golden sunrise,
brazen morning,
dancing darkness,
falling free-
singing high
with hidden voices-
waking worlds
where shadows flee.
Lengthening light,
long remember,
one who comes
will rule by day!
Come fallen fliers-
torn asunder-
come and rest,
from restless waves.
Sleep your peaceful sleep
you souls arrested,
bright blue morning-
birds ablaze-
strike out new,
to touch the heavens-
stand strong now,
you heavy hearts-
amazed.

I can almost see it
That dream I am dreaming
But there's a voice inside my head saying
"You'll never reach it"
Every step I'm taking, every move I make feels
Lost with no direction, my faith is shaking
But I gotta keep trying
Gotta keep my head held high
There's always gonna be another mountain
I'm always gonna wanna make it move
Always gonna be a uphill battle
Sometimes I'm gonna have to lose
Ain't about how fast I get there
Ain't about what's waiting on the other side
It's the climb

Its a rare occassion but I really love this song of Miley Cyrus. These are edges od clouds, after much softening. I was trying to trump the noises but I thought the soft look is pretty stunning too. Do bear with the stark compressions too, this was saved around 72 times over. Teehee.

The Look:
Description Section:
Elegance doesn’t beg for attention—it commands it. I slipped into this sculpted Carmen gown by Dernier [located at the mainstore] with the kind of confidence only satin and gold can hold. The high slit? A soft threat. The feathered detailing? A whisper of opulence. And this hair? The Ace wig by Royl was absolutely the final note in my symphony of allure [located at the Label Event]. I didn’t just arrive—I composed the moment. Wrapped in pink, framed by grand piano keys, I am the music.
After spa - no hair curlers, no hair spray, no styler, just a little bit with my hands are designed )
I received a lot of reviews for this hair styling. And yet everyone asked - but how? )))
The first thing to do - is, of course, neatly combed hair. This applies to any dolls with any hair. I just do not focus on such a seemingly obvious point. I always comb very small strands (the less - the better), then the hair will not fight, do not pull, not deformed. Combing thin strands, you will be able to fix any, even the most tangled hair. And haste is useless)
Second. "SPA". In a small bowl with clean warm water, I spread her half cup fabric softener, and dropped back down the doll's head (not all of it, of course: haha: only on the scalp). Waited half a minute, all the hair thoroughly wet and nourished by this solution. The solution was then poured into a bowl and poured the clean warm water and rinse your hair is already there.
Third. I brushed the wet hair (doll upside down) very vigorously to the excess moisture is not stretched hair drying. If you are afraid that lost parting, just hold it with your finger.
Spa treatments are finished) I put in a doll stand. What else you need to do at this stage - combed bangs (as dry - so be it.)
I did not land doll hair dryer. By morning, the case itself is drying up.
Now the fun part. Tresses. What to do with them?)))
Margo lambs were tight, and in principle already looked good. But well - there is not perfect, so ...
In laying curls important to understand their logic: biggrin: It sounds silly, but it is true. What do I mean? Doll's head on the set of locks factory irons, must-wrap on the finger (if practicable, in pencil) by the clockwise or counter-curled curl. Next, if you have taken in hand lock, screw it on his finger, release, and a lock is not perfect (no clear spiral, as in my photo above), this means only one thing - you have captured from several hair strands, which, when stuck in a spa one, and how would you anyway, it will be down! Share lock on two - three parts, and each twist individually - I have a "focus" has turned! )
I hope I could help you with something. Good luck to everyone!
Lora softens toward Alexander on the bunk, confessing her “appetizing crumb” circus role while insisting, “Time to switch to 'ty'—it's getting hard otherwise. But please, no kiss.” She purrs, “Bet you're thinking with a kiss... well, if you want...” and playfully kisses him despite her words.

Z 85mm f/1.2
While at the Best Buy training in San Diego, we got a chance to play with the new skin softening feature of the Z8. I also used the Sepia Picture Control (C13) for the slightly muted color seen in this JPG capture.
I tried another pair of eyes in Haru the other day ❤ I think this 18/9 size fits better than the wider ones ^_^

the light was THE BEST that evening at the park...i made chris drive around so i could take some shots...
(150/215)
I heard that there was some snow fall in Yosemite National Park. I took a drive up and saw that it snowed on the upper elevations of the park, but not in the valley itself.
Haze softens the colours and outlines of the more distant higher mountains, on a lovely summer evening. Llyn Edno, surrounded by rocky bluffs and heather moorland, at an altitude of 550m, and overlooked by the higher peaks of Snowdon, is one of the most beautiful mountain lakes in Snowdonia.
Don't know about your part of the world, but if I peek outside it's gray everything so picking up on the theme....adding some color to the mix and.....voilá!
(I'm going more colorful, creative for awhile as a change of pace...)
....and I must add, some of my contacts who have not been on flickr for awhile are back, and how I have missed you and your work....y' know, one gets to 'know' people and their personalities through their photos..
Yep, I cherish you all....
Thanks for stopping in...♡
Her face softens for a beat when she says the cop’s name—Klepov didn’t drag her out, he asked, like a man tired of chasing “lost sheep.” She clutches her hidden bottle, thinking of her mother alone, and offers communion: “No other drink. Next time, you pour.”

softened the skin to make it look a bit less weird and gave it a normal orientation I'm not really fond of.
Photo 'softened' and matt frame - no other editing. She has no wrinkles - I guess this is the result of 'good' living. No smoking, no alcohol, home grown veges, plain meals - (no chemicals.) A

she's my uncle's daughter... there is a similar pattern with me... li'l nose :D
p.s: i havent tried this one... For a cheap plugin, it does a pretty great job at skin softening.
