Pictures taken as I arrived home after buying this bike yesterday, snow still on the ground but warm enough to ride in jeans and jacket.
Harley-Davidson, Inc (NYSE: HOG, formerly HDI), often abbreviated H-D or Harley, is an American motorcycle manufacturer. Founded in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, during the first decade of the 20th century, it was one of two major American motorcycle manufacturers to survive the Great Depression. Harley-Davidson also survived a period of poor quality control and competition from Japanese manufacturers.
The company sells today only heavyweight motorcycles with over 700 cc, designed for cruising on highways. Harley-Davidson motorcycles, or "Harleys", are noted for the tradition of heavy customization that gave rise to the chopper style of motorcycle. Except for the modern VRSC model family, current Harley-Davidson motorcycles reflect the styles of classic Harley designs. Harley-Davidson's attempts to establish itself in the light motorcycle market have met little success and have largely been abandoned since the 1978 sale of its Italian Aermacchi subsidiary.
Harley-Davidson sustains a large brand community which keeps active through clubs, events, and a museum.

When going on the ULM trip with Jef, I only took my 60D with fisheye with me, of course it always seems that you are doomed and craving for another lens.
This time a bunch of Harley Davidsons and an ancient Bentley really got me frustrated in having only that fisheye with me.
Still made some goodies of the Harleys, but the Bentley ... damn !

Harley-Davidson introduced the Softail chassis in 1984 he original Softails used the small FX telescopic forks, but the FLST Heritage Softail with large FL telescopic forks was introduced in 1986. The FLSTC Heritage Softail Classic, with large front forks and retro styling, was in production by 1988
