They say the darkest hour of the night comes just before dawn — and here it is, unfolding in silence. Shadows still linger, yet the first whispers of light begin to rise. A quiet reminder that even after the longest darkness, the promise of a new day always returns.
Clouds gather like dark sails over the Ring of Kerry, and the sea turns to pewter where bands of light slip through and paint the coves; headlands layer into soft silhouettes, islands rise like resting whales, and the evening feels hushed and tidal, the road and the water both unspooling toward a quiet horizon.
Silence spreads like a wordless prayer. The lake breathes slowly, as time dissolves along the line where water meets sky. Nothing asks for haste.
There is an invisible dialogue between she and the horizon – a conversation that needs no sound, only presence. The tree, stripped of its leaves, understands. It bends with the wind but stands tall, holding secrets that winter cannot erase.
The bench is not just a place to rest but a space where thoughts drift lightly, dancing between what is and what once was. Solitude, here, does not weigh heavy. It spreads like light over the water, turning every absence into a poem.
At the lake’s edge, what feels missing becomes whole.

When Earth Wore the Colors of Venus
As twilight embraced Montezuma Pass, I turned my lens toward the quiet horizon—Mexico resting beneath the breath of dusk. There it was: the Belt of Venus, a delicate blush of rose-pink caressing the edge of the world, wrapped above the deepening Earth’s shadow—a quiet blue veil cast by our own planet upon its sky.
This ethereal belt forms when sunlight scatters through Earth’s atmosphere, reflecting from the opposite horizon just as the Sun dips below it. The pink hue arises from backscattered reddened sunlight, while the darker band beneath is the Earth’s umbra, slowly rising as night claims the day.
Between these two—light and shadow—the heavens whisper of cycles eternal: dusk to dawn, day to night, and the tender reminder that even Earth casts beauty in its own shadow.
Captured with Canon EOS 5D Mark III, 70–200mm lens, on a Manfrotto tripod, overlooking the Mexico side of Montezuma Pass, Arizona, USA, while awaiting the Beaver Supermoon’s rise.

The weather was strong - with days where the wind was over 30m/s but never the less the Icelandic beauty was on full display. These images are from a brief roadtrip along the South Coast.
All of these images are single exposure with basic edits - nothing added, nothing removed. The only use of AI is for moderate noise reduction.
