The perennials are struggling a bit in the heat of the summer and need much attention. That made me miss the spring flowers especially the tulips which bloom so faithfully year after year. No.5 in the Colour Palette series - Pink on Black.

A symbol of grace, a quiet sigh,

It catches hearts as time goes by.

In the garden's heart, it finds its place,

A timeless beauty, full of grace.

One of the reasons my photography is so fulfilling is the joy of discovering new treasures in nature, be they new birds species, new insects, and maybe most of all, new plant and flower species that I hadn't previously known of.

We're probably all aware of the tropical Hibiscus plant, and I have grown them in summer pots as an annual, due to our cold Wisconsin winters.

Lo and behold, I discovered the other day that there are now Hardy Hibiscus varieties that do well in cold climates! Plant breeders have come up with quite a few varieties that I will definitely be looking into for integrating into our landscape.

This 8-inch flower caught my eye as I was driving on a busy city street, and it was growing in someone's front sidewalk garden. I immediately pulled over to the curb, parked, and then proceeded to capture this dinner plate-sized beauty.

After some research I found its exact cultivar and name. Enjoy this lovely flower with me :)

-She so white, you so black ... what did you expect?

-transform us into an eternal gray?

-Ella tan Blanca, tu tan negro... qué esperabas?

-transformarnos en un gris eterno?

I love to do children's portraits especialy when they dont know that they are being photograph. I kind of like the blur effect I captured here.It gives this Image a special perspective.

Por debajo de la puerta

Se cuela la última beta

De la luz de un día más

Como si fuera una estrella

Avanza por la moqueta

Se detiene junto a mí

Y la herida que ha quedado

Se abre como una mano

Me acaricia con paz

Es el dolor afilado

De la esperanza que ha terminado

Pero no se va a marchar

Jamás...

Jamás...

Jamás...

Jamás...

No se marchará jamás...

Enciendo otro cigarrillo

Tumbado en la misma cama

En la que dormí ayer

El humo de esa pared

Al llegar a la bombilla

Que no volverá a prender

Y el amor que nos hicimos

Aparece de repente

Como un rayo en el mar

Es un tesoro pesado

Que me arrastra hasta el fondo

Pero no lo voy a soltar

Jamás...

Jamás...

Jamás...

Jamás...

No lo soltaré jamás

Porque a pesar de todo el daño

Prefiero hundirme brillando

Que simplemente flotar

Sometimes a gentle pause heals more than words ever could.

A warm moment, soft and simple — like a breath that finally lands.

OK, so I didn't really dream of flowers, but if I did I am sure it would look like this.

Brutus (puppy) loves to stampede through these, to get to the tomato plants and roll in them, until he smells like them.. :)

There’s a softness to this bloom that feels almost meditative. The delicate blush-pink petals, gently fading to cream at the centre, evoke a sense of calm and vulnerability. The water droplets add a layer, suggesting the flower has just weathered a shower and remained serene. It speaks to resilience in gentleness.

[ENG] Macro magic: magnolia blossoms glowing in golden light.

A close-up of magnolia blossoms reveals their delicate textures and soft color gradients, from gentle whites to rich pinks. Framed by the gnarled branches of an old tree, the petals stand in elegant contrast to the blurred pastel backdrop of more blossoms. This poetic scene invites quiet reflection—a tribute to the gentle side of spring, captured in a fleeting moment of natural grace.

Minimal, elegant, unforgettable.

Yes, these are real flowers :)

Under a blanket of low-hanging clouds, the three iconic bridges of the Firth of Forth emerge as enduring testaments to Scotland’s engineering legacy. To the left, the angular cantilevers of the Forth Rail Bridge dominate, a symbol of Victorian strength and precision. The Forth Road Bridge takes a quieter role in the centre, its slender lines blending subtly into the overcast sky. Meanwhile, the Queensferry Crossing tower rises faintly in the mist to the right, its modern silhouette softened by the atmospheric haze. This asymmetrical composition draws the eye across the scene, where muted tones of grey, blue, and winter green evoke a reflective calm. This is a real but refined landscape, where human ingenuity meets nature’s quiet persistence, offering a tranquil moment to pause and appreciate the interplay of history, design, and environment.

This is very close to another shot but I loved the light and softness with the pose from the Beautiful Melissa.
