I'm so drawn to birds in flight. I think that is because they are symbolic for me of freedom and spiritual ascension.
I've used the central part of Nesster's TTV to enhance the light. Many thanks Nesster!
This one surprised me, flew overhead at a nearby lake. Turned around at the perfect moment, focus locked, and boom. One of my favorites ever.

Just a simple capture of a Ring-billed Gull as it flies in the evening light... Sometimes simple is better :)
I was extremly happy to spot this Bald Eagle soaring above in the sky. Even though far away this majestic bird made my day.

This immature bald eagle soars by me at Nilnilchick. I watched a number of eagles that were practicing their grabs in the air with other eagles.

One of the many red-tailed hawks perched on power poles out in the Oregon high desert. I made it a habit to pull over and get some shots when I saw one in the distance as a sped along these desolate central Oregon roads. I found it more difficult to get a good flying shot, not becasue it was hard to scare them off thier perch (they are very wary of humans) but becasue they always flew away from me with their tails on my direction! This one hopped forward so I was in luck.
