For those of you who live in warmer climates, these badboys strap onto your regular winter boots and spread your weight out so you don't sink into the snow as much. This particular design is pretty classic.
George only sells snowshoes. We have difficulty ourselves obtaining traditional Native tanned moosehide for bindings.
While showing Eelco around Bodie, my husband, Jim, walked through the little museum. Just as we were leaving he described what he saw, including a pair of snowshoes for horses. Now, I used to ride a lot in my younger days. I said I didn't believe it. "Go look." So I did - and he was right.
