Happiness is finding in the woods the first flowers of spring this year, the snowdrops. Its petals look like little wings that seem to want to provide the peace☮ we need right now.

Happy New Year to all my flickr friends!

Thanks for all your nice comments, invites and faves:-)!

My first attempt at photographing snowdrops this year. After a rainy morning, soft sunlight filtered through the trees of the forest in the afternoon. Happy two hours of peace and quiet.

Dear friends, thank you all for your views, comments and faves!

Snowdrops & crocuses

The first day of Spring today at least if like me you follow the meteorological calendar . For the climate in England it fits much better than the solar calendar. A garden full of daffodils and crocus tells me winter is over ( there will be cold weather still to come for sure ) but the darkness is vanquished till next November

This is actually a winter shot but it has a spring like quality I think . Taken in Burton Agnes in the East Riding of Yorkshire

There is a chicken in the shot if you have good eyes

THANKS FOR YOUR VISITING BUT CAN I ASK YOU NOT TO FAVE AN IMAGE WITHOUT ALSO MAKING A COMMENT. MANY THANKS KEITH.

ANYONE MAKING MULTIPLE FAVES WITHOUT COMMENTS WILL SIMPLY BE BLOCKED

Despite the terrible wet weather we've been having, the Snowdrops still push on through.

First snowdrops of 2024 appear in the garden.

at Anglesey Abbey. I don't get the chance to visit this place as often as I would like - it changes so beautifully with the seasons. Unfortunately everyone else seems to like it, and it gets very crowded, so we arrived really early and had a pleasant walk round!
