Yesterday Marybeth told me that the swallows were making nests in the barn and kept landing on the fence right outside the door. It seemed like a good time to configure the long lens and see what I could catch. The whole time I was moving about, Snoopy, Marybeth and Brianne's horse, was very interested in what I was doing. He's never really been too interested in me (unless I have a peppermint candy for him) and it seemed odd. Poor guy, it's sad to see him bored, he misses his little pony girlfriend.
Well unlike all the master bird photographers that I follow here on flickr, I generally don't have much patience when it comes to waiting around for a bird to do something interesting. A lot of nothing and I was ready to go back in the house, I looked over at Snoopy and it seemed like he was posing for me so I caught this shot of him. In reality, he was probably hoping I would give him a peppermint candy. When I took a look on the computer I was a bit surprised but 500mm did him pretty good with the soft light of the slightly hazy, smoke filled air.
This has been a really good day…
Had lots of trouble to put the figurines into the car. And after taking photos I couldn't get them out ;-))

Well, Snoopy can't spell, and Sloopy won't mind ;-)

Happy Sliders Sunday, Everyone!
Considered to do Snoopy as a silhouette for Macro Monday's "Silhouette" theme (he was actually clearly recognisable!), but I actually like it better this way.
Thank you all for your faves, and wonderful comments, I highly appreciate them ;-)!
I wish you a nice, calm Sunday, and a peaceful week ahead, dear Flickr friends!

A snoopy bandit!.
I was pishing a little bit just to see what was hanging out in the bushes. At first my pishing attracted only the usual and ubiquitous Song Sparrow until this nosy neighbour showed up. Not a lot goes on in small towns I suppose, so when the traveling 'pishing band' comes to town, they all come out for a look-see.
Common Yellowthroat
This is Snoopy, a dog that I met while walking along the lakeshore. The owners were walking him and allowed me to take a few pictures.
He is a beagle, if I remember correctly...
How sweet are those eyes???
Along a Nevada highway is this rock formation that some found to resemble Charles Schultz character Snoopy so they painted eyes, nose and mouth on it and magically, it is Snoopy… Added some contrast and adjusted the shadows in Photoshop then made and added a preset in Topaz Restyle, added some glow in Topaz Glow some paint effect in Topaz Impression and texture in Topaz Texture plus minor adjustments in Photoshop for Slider Sunday…………. Happy Slider Sunday
Snoopy is right of center. You can see his entire profile, including body and paws. Woodstock perched on Snoopy's snout is the crowning touch. Charles Schulz would be proud.
It is a very late post for me as I was playing tonight in Guelph ON.
I was born in Guelph and only get there when I am rehearsing and playing the odd gig. Lucky for me some old high school buddies came out to see me and catch up.
It is late and I am very tired.
View some photos and go to bed.

The original of this photo was taken with my first digital camera. The shot was okay, but not wonderful. I decided to do some heavy manipulations for interest on the tree and background.
A 2-shot composite here... Snoopy and Woodstock reside at the airport in Minneapolis/St. Paul. I transplanted them into this scene from the Pima Air and Space Museum in Tucson Arizona.
