(Rostrhamus sociabilis) It looks like we won't be able to visit the US for some time yet and we're missing our trips to Florida! I thought I would post a few more pics from our last trip in Oct 2019.
Lots of small snail on the Oak leaves yesterday. I didn't notice the damage to this one until I was processing the image.
This snail is about 5 mm (0,2"), it balances on a blade of grass.

Juvenile Snail Kite ~ (Rostrhamus sociabilis)
A young Snail Kite comes in for a landing with a good sized Apple Snail in its beak at sunrise. Their long talons on display here make snatching large snails from the water much easier.Lots of Snail Kite photos coming - be warned!

The Snail Kite's main food is Pomacea Snails. It flies low over the water and will grab a snail with its feet. It is considered endangered.
