Blauwborst - Male White-spotted Bluethroat (Luscinia svecica cyanecula)
Personally I prefer my songbirds without a mouthful of disgusting grubs & insects. (-;
Noisy Miner (Manorina melanocephala)
This one had dived into the protective screen around a recently planted tree near the Woodville Oval, it came up with a small insect to snack on.
Happy Wing Wednesday!
I saw someone drop their PB&J in the road yesterday... What a way to start a traffic jam!

Well, this snack doubled top as my lunch ~ one beautiful scone and homemade blackberry jam and a cup of hot latte!

Song Sparrow (Melospiza melodia) feeding on cactus fruit; I like the story here. The Song Sparrow has a bit of fruit on its upper beak perched by the whole fruit that has obviously been opened and fed upon by a number of birds. I also like the oval shapes of the fruits beside the semi- oval shape of the sparrow's breast. The entire scene was in low light, and the bkg took considerable processing, but you take what you get with backgrounds, and I like the result; Sony a9; Sony 200-600mm lens + 1.4X at 840 mm; handheld; ISO 6400; 1/2000 sec; f/9;

This white faced heron was taking advantage of our recently flooded overflow pond having just enough water in it to bring a lot of tasty morsels to the surface. It was finding a little snack every five or six seconds and fed non stop for the half hour that I watched it.
Happy Wing Wednesday.
