Something New!
We just got back from our trip to the Trumansburg Farmer's Market and one of the booths had Aronia Berries for sale. They had a smoothie to try and I was quite taken by it, so we bought a pint of berries. The fellow gave us his smoothie recipe and I made it soon as we got home. Yum, it is good. The berries resemble blueberries but are black and very dry and tart, but with the other ingredients it makes a super tasty drink. We're going to get a couple Aronia shrubs and plant them in our yard. Maybe we'll get enough berries from it in the coming years to make more smoothies!
The last of the Botany Bay series which is a long exposure version of the previous image. I took shots at 10, 20 and 30 seconds, but found that on this occasion 10 seconds still revealed the reflection (which I was keen to retain), whilst it blurred to almost nothing at longer exposures.
If sippin' your smoothie doesn't take you here, you're doing it wrong.
So happy to say, these are all my own images! I can't stand the idea of using other people's images (free and legal) to edit pictures, and I know it's a thing people do these days... I just need them all to be mine! Otherwise it doesn't feel genuine.
This was actually my smoothie today. Strawberry, lime, coconut, banana! Amazing.
On another note, I've really been enjoying being back on Flickr... it's the only form of social media I'd actually prefer to be on, as I love connecting with other photographers that are just about photography and art. I was contemplating coming back here for almost half a year before I finally did, and I'm glad I did. I would love to get rid of everything else. Dear Flickr, please stick around another 10 years. Also, thanks for not ruining image quality all these years.

Double Exposure
One of the last shots I took in Japan. A double exposure taken at the observatory at the Haneda Airport: people, and the sunset they're observing.

Tricolour Smoothie - spectacular and delicious.
Top - banana and peanut butter
Middle - Blueberries and lemon juice
Bottom - kiwi and milled linseed
Healthy ingredients and counts towards your 5 a day!
If the layers are too juicy, strain and freeze for a few minutes until stiff before adding to the glass.
I should have topped it off with a spoonful of creme fraiche!
While it was windy today, I have decided to make some mixed-fruit smoothies and enjoy them outdoor in our backyard. I was thinking this Summer had gone by so quickly. I felt like I haven't done anything.

The refracted light from a prism in my kitchen window fortuitously struck my morning smoothie and luckily I had my iPhone handy.
We made a MESS (a much bigger mess than is apparent) of our kitchen last night, but had a lot of fun doing it :)
Inspired by actual events.
