Much of Minnesota was choked with smoke from Canadian fires and a couple of our own for much of the summer of 2021.

“Real Eyes Realize Real Lies”…

- Picture taken with Mysti

We are new to this neighborhood; at night we saw glowing light and smoke arising from afar, some nights the light was more intense than the others, such as last night.

I have scouted Google Maps and only saw one Exxon Mobile Baytown Marine Terminal in that direction (but really far away), so for now the light and smoke shall remain a mystery.

I wish you a pleasant day/night!

Another capture of the sun through the smoke in the upper atmosphere here on the east coast from the west coast fires.

#4/52, Smoke, 52 weeks in 2020

Taken last week in the Bitterroot Mountains, smoke from the California and Oregon fires.

It almost looks like low cloud cover but this is all smoke from last summers fires. It was nice to get above it and not have to breath the smoke for a bit.

It hasn't been nearly as bad of a wildfire season this year as we've had in the last few years, but still from time to time we've had some smoke arrive from distant fires.

Thank you in Advance for your kind ‘Faves’ and visits they are so very much appreciated.

I cannot always ‘Thank’ everyone individually, for their visits and ‘Faves’ however, I will always try to respond and thank all those that leave a ‘Comment’.

Your 'Comments' do not always appear in 'Notifications' or Flickr mail, so, I am sorry for any delay in responding. Often your 'Comment' is only spotted 'On the Page' on the day, that I see it. (seen ONLY when replying to someone HAS 'Commented' on the image)

I am fascinated by smoke photographs. For this weeks theme, I've decided to experiment on smoke photography. This is a photo of a small (5cl) bottle and a smoke from a burning incense from inside it.

Ít is a composite of 3 shots as my incense keep dying from inside and I didn't get enough volume of smoke coming out from the bottles opening hole.

HMM!

The pistils in the middle of the flowers of Prairie Smoke Geum develop into heads of seeds with long fuzzy hairs that point upwards. The hairs resemble mauve smoke, hence the name prairie smoke. These collected some overnight dew, adding to their delicate beauty.

Happy Bokeh Wednesday! Thank you all for your visits, comments, awards and faves -- I appreciate them all.

Far from any town, near an old, abandoned research facility, the sound of a door being blown off its hinges breaks the otherwise undisturbed silence.

Out of the dark, musty interior of the building, an orange mist slithers silently into the open. As it exits the building, it begins to coalesce, forming into a concentrated glob, and moving in an unnerving, unnatural manner, almost as if it were sentient, guided by a phantom mind...Having gathered itself into a single, undulating mass, the mist pauses mid-air for a moment, and then, in an instant, bolts off into the distance, headed straight toward the nearest farmstead..

Something has awoken... some thing.

Smoke no Mirrors abstract patterns from this burst of smoke, shot in North Carolina.

Taken for Macro Mondays 'Smoke' theme. This is a Chinese incense coil that must have been sitting in my cupboard since my student days - I used to have them on all the time.

I enjoyed this theme as it was a bit of a challenge to set up and produced loads of interesting shots - I liked the swirl of smoke in this one.

pretty patterns. For Macro Mondays, the theme is 'Smoke'. I used an incense cone and put a small upside down funnel on top to lead the smoke through. Happy Macro Mondays/ HMM

Woke up to our first real smokey day this morning...darn! It's been so nice to have had a smoke-free summer so far. After I took this picture the smoke descended to the lake but started to clear later in the day so it wasn't so bad.
