"Naturel Stones"

... Bones.

A bowl full of dog biscuit bones. It's OK, Rufus did get one after I'd taken the photo. 😄

The Flood Zone was a great nightclub in the Shockoe Slip section of downtown Richmond, so named because it was, literally, in the James River flood zone. The place was sold and resold and I am not sure what it is now, if anything. The smiles are faded and chipped, but they remain. I am into reflections these days.

New Info: Painting remains on the building, but it now called the Have A Nice Day Cafe.

昨日は雨の中鎌倉へ行ってきました。

先ずは長谷寺のニコニコ御地蔵様で皆様のご機嫌をお伺い致します。

I went to Kamakura in the rain yesterday.

First of all, I will post pictures of the three smiling Jizo of Hase-dera.

Just smile.

Good advice from a young Gecko, paused in a patch of sunlight on the island of Kauai.

I took this today, but have lost my EXIF details while changing the background.

This young Mallard seems to be smiling to himself as he drifts along in the sunshine...which made me think of this lovely poem by the wonderful late great Spike Milligan. Seems quite apt to me right now ❤️ Let’s all be kind to each other.

Smile

Smiling is infectious,

you catch it like the flu,

When someone smiled at me today,

I started smiling too.

I passed around the corner

and someone saw my grin.

When he smiled I realised

I'd passed it on to him.

I thought about that smile,

then I realized its worth.

A single smile, just like mine

could travel 'round the earth.

So, if you feel a smile begin,

don't leave it undetected.

Let's start an epidemic quick,

and get the world infected!

Smile on Saturday: Christmas Collage

Happy holidays, everyone!

The vibrant colors I thought may bring out some smiles instead of a low key shot with black background.

Mum watches over her unruly offspring! She's never far away...but often the most wary and on the sidelines.

Just a fun shot to make you smile today. Soon the Snowy Owls will be back in our area.

Happy Smile on Saturday!

I was on the tram and passed these people setting up their shots. I couldn't resist so jumped off the tram and hoped they would still be there as I walked back. And, as you can see, they were. Thank-you to all of them - a lovely bunch of Amsterdammers 😊❤️

A grizzly bear cracks a smile as he/she walks through the water along the river bank and thinks about all the tasty salmon he/she's about to catch, Chilko River, BC.

Fish don't like to swim towards you, so it has been a while that I have been trying to capture a parrotfish with its buck teeth goofy grin visible. That it was a relatively uncommon blue parrotfish is a bonus.

My attempt at the "Smile on Saturday" theme "selfmade smiley".

Smile on saturday 12.8.2023 "fake food"

Mocha has the most interesting doggie expressions. Great to photograph.

Another weekend, yet another place that somehow in Singapore I am actually visiting it for the first time.

Dempsey Hill is actually one of the places that I had wanted to go for quite a long time, but somehow I overlooked it for one reason or another.

It was only when I joined up with my usual group of people for a vintage motor car exhibition that I would actually make the trip there, full of smiles like this shot here.

.. of Nefertiti .. found in the fabulous Brooklyn Museum .. for Smile on Saturday's "catch a smile" .. HSoS :)

... Mugs With Words.

Simplement Breizh ! Simply La Bretagne.

As we don't have any mugs with writing on them I went down to the gift shop in town to see what they had.

The woman who runs it has got used to me popping in for an odd photo or two, so when I asked, she giggled and said go ahead.

The only rule being is that I don't take the objects off the shelves, so I have to take them in situ, which isn't always that easy. But, I won't bend the rules, as I might get banned from using the shop and it does come in handy.
