Taking in the sea air on the top deck of the Stena Europe superferry. I travelled from Ireland to the UK last week to visit friends & family, my first time back in 10 years. Home now but I'm feeling a little jaded so you'll have to bear with me while I try to catch up on comments in the coming days.

The life jackets are stored in these benches & the lifeboats are hanging over the side. There is actually a walking route around the deck, 4 laps = 1km. Great idea to pass the time HBM!

We were driving on the outskirts of Galway when I spotted this unusual structure & decided to park up & grab a quick pic. Never seen anything quite like it before, presuming it's some kind of communication mast? Maybe someone can enlighten me.

I do hope it's suitable subject matter for my own group otherwise I'll look a bit daft saying Happy Telegraph Tuesday 😂

Smartphone Dependancy Syndrom, or SDS, afflicts most of modern society. Even on holiday, people can be seen slumped, head down, staring at their screens. Some even walking, zombie like, oblivious of their surroundings.

In Blackpool, where there is a serious hard drug problem, this is yet another style of escape.

My personal theme: Photo-reportage. Telling stories with images is my favourite and most satisfying application of photography.

Shot of the 62 per cent lit Moon from 27 November 2017. It was taken with a Moto G4 smartphone (handheld) through a Celestron NexStar 6SE (a 6" SCT) using a 25mm Plossl eyepiece. This gave a power of x60 with a 0.9° field of view. It was taken from Stokesley in North Yorkshire.

I've cropped the original image and applied a slight edit using the phone's own camera app. This was to enhance the contrast slightly.
