In 2017 ADL placed into demonstration duties this neat 8.9m E20D MMC, featuring a SmartPack stop-start engine. A 4cly Cummins Euro VI standard engine power pack, which delivers quite a nippy performance.
The bus have visited Blackpool, Newcastle and Leeds during its travels. Now the bus has been loaned to established operator Reliance Motor Service, Sutton on the Forest, York. Its been used on the York-Easingwold corridor, service 40, which passes through some very interesting villages and countryside.
I caught up with NX17NXA at Easingwold and had a return trip to York. Inside the bus is fitted with some of the best E-leather seating on an ADL product. On each back rest there is a USB power socket and a push out coat hanger! Which is handing for popping off one's coat and enjoying the ride. Despite having only 29 seats, the legroom was tight. A wood effect floor, strip lighting along the ceiling cove panels, the split rear window which allows for more light and decent sized windows, for a pleasant environment in which passengers can enjoy the journey.

At the top of the Alexander Dennis double-decker bus range is the ADL Enviro400 City. The Go-Ahead group have ordered many of the luxurious type for their Bluestar subsidiary in Southampton, painted attractively as ever in their smart royal blue livery. These buses are amongst the first to be fitted with ADL's new SmartPack technology, which reduces diesel emissions substantially versus a standard Euro 6 double-decker. On display at the show was HF68DXZ (1235), slightly disappointingly to anyone out there who's a bit OCD (such as myself)!

All the SmartPacks trash compactors are situated outside at Roland Garros, with twelve SmartPacks located around the Suzanne Lenglen Tennis Court, (the second largest stadium at Stade Roland Garros, with a capacity of 10,056) and twelve situated around the Place des Mousquetaires, where the main food area is located. In 2014, the French Open used just six SmartPacks. In 2015, are utilizing twenty-four SmartPacks. Using the SmartPacks at the French Open has made a huge difference in the required labor and overall efficiencies at the facility. Thibaut Poulier, Sales Manager at Harmony France explained, “Prior to having the SmartPack Compactors, Roland Garros had 250 people managing the cleaning of the stadium, now only 180 people are needed. They used to empty the bins 25 times per day, now it is between 2 and 3 times, and never during the lunch rush. The Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta Airport (ATL) does not take cleanliness or trash removal lightly. They installed 55 SmartPack automatic trash compactors throughout the newly renovated Maynard H. This terminal is not just pretty to look at. It is also designed for efficiency. See the black rectangular box? That is a trash can, but not a typical trash can. It is an automatic trash compactor and there are 55 of them placed around the new Maynard H. Jackson Jr. International Terminal at the Atlanta Airport. Each holds 8-12 bags of trash, saving on labor, hauling, and trash liners. Plus, customers will never get sight of over-flowing trash. 非常忙碌的周末，因为快要回北京了，好像很多事情都没做呢。一大早强迫自己起床，在细雨中来到上海新客站在自助机器上买好3段火车票。很郁闷苏州到常州的火车没有买到动车，结果是一张T34次从杭州到天津的过路车，结果证明即使没有座位也要坐动车，这种昔日的特快列车简直就是新时代的绿皮车啊，车厢里居然还有人抽烟！Shit！真TM有抽人的冲动。
到苏州也是下雨，前往行政中心办理香港签注，今年7月28日刚换的新通行证到现在短短4个月内居然已经去了4趟香港了。苏州终于也有自助机器了，不用户口本和一堆复印件了。不过不是当时能取证的，还是需要等上几天然后自己去取或者叫人取。上海、天津好像是立等可取的。不过好歹是进步，至少别人代办的话更方便了。办好后把户口本还给阿姨，然后吃饭，下午杀去网师园。不得不感叹苏州的公共汽车破的不行！网师园人很少，太棒了，拍了个痛快。唯一不幸的是，我穿的太少了，结果在江南超级阴冷的天气里，我一直瑟瑟发抖（身体已经是北方人了适应了北方的干冷）。网师园出来第三次前往苏州博物馆，路上吃了碗拉面暖暖身子。前两次来博物馆是注重拍建筑和外景而且时间仓促，这次注意力放在展品和内部。晚上坐那该死的T34回常州。
常州的1天又是扫街，大陆饭店、长沟别墅、万福桥、前后北岸、青果巷的赵元任故居。晚上回上海，车上一帮老头老太精神太TM好，吵吵嚷嚷简直就是一群乌鸦！
