Photos from the first day of rehearsal for the DCPA Theatre Company's upcoming production of "Smart People," by Lydia R. Diamond. This acclaimed new play is a biting comedy that follows a quartet of Harvard intellectuals struggling to understand why the lives of so many people – including their own – continue to be undermined by race. No matter how hard they research, question and confront the issue, their own problems with self-awareness make it difficult to face the facts of life. The cast includes Esther Chen, Timothy McCracken, Jason Veasey and Tatiana Williams. The director is Nataki Garrett. "Smart People" runs Oct. 13 through Nov. 19, 2017, in the Ricketson Theatre. I have been asked to take some photographs of a new coffee shop which opened on 25 June 2009.
I took this for the posterity of reading the quote below. If you go to "All Sizes" you can see read it all. This was around the corner from the defleshed skull.
All smart fortwos are equipped with a package of passive safety features. Full driver and passenger front airbags and side airbags for head and thorax protection are standard. The steering column will collapse in the event of a serious front-end collision.
The smart fortwo also has a sophisticated safety belt system, incorporating belt tensioners that sense motion changes to reduce slack in a few milliseconds while also triggering a belt force limiter designed to release a controlled amount of pressure on the chest before the pressure becomes too great. In addition, the seats are designed with a strong modular steel structure with integrated headrests.
