Smart & Final is located in half of the "old Longs" store. Never been in a Smart and Final - you're missing it. Prices are as good as Costco, and the quantities are smaller.
Birds would come to drink from the little drip of water coming from the faucet. This one is a male Italian Sparrow (Passer domesticus italiae).
According to fellow Flickr member Dave Appleton when I asked for help in distinguishing Italian Sparrows from Spanish Sparrows:
"Re Italian Sparrows: sounds like the further south you go (or west once you get to Sicily) Italian Sparrows become more and more like Spanish Sparrows until they are Spanish Sparrows! With its heavily streaked mantle and black streaks extending from the breast along the flanks, this one looks more like a Spanish Sparrow than what most of us probably think of as Italian Sparrow. What do you call it? Dunno. Sounds like anything that isn't pure and simple classic Spanish (or House) gets called Italian, but what that means I'm not sure if anyone really understands. The jury's still out on whether they're a stabilised hybrid, race (or just clinal variation) of Spanish Sparrow, new species in the process of evolving, etc. The only thing they probably aren't is what several taxonomic authorities (including Clements) treat them as: a race of House Sparrow. As for the females, it's hard enough telling a pure Spanish from a pure House where you don't get any of these in-betweeny things, so I'd base the ID on what the surrounding males are, if they're all the same."
I can't seem to see a Smart car without taking it's picture - they are just so cool.

It was overcast and rainy. Just had the new (wider) wheels and tires put on the car so I figured what better to photograph?

My 2005 Smart Car, photo taken at Bakerview City Park, Mount Vernon WA, USA. This is an import from Europe that has been modified to meet the USA requirements but it is the original Smart Car with the 0.7 liter Mercedes engine with the 6-speed transmission, rather than the current US import with the Mitsubishi engine and 5-speed transmission.

Photos taken on Feb. 28, 2009 of former Lucky Supermarket, converted to Albertsons in 1999 after Albertsons took over Lucky Stores.
This former Albertsons was directly across the street from another Albertsons own store, Max Foods. In 2007, Albertsons closed down the former Max Foods, and remodeled the store into a new Albertsons. This store site was closed for several months until Smart and Final took over.
This is a Smart and Final Extra Store, which is a hybrid warehouse/supermarket.
