The S&P #BSE #Sensex is trading at 31,579 down by 20 points, while #Nifty is trading at 9,862 down by 9 points. A total of 16 stocks registered a fresh 52-week high in trade today, while 12 stocks touched a new 52-week low on the #NSE. There are 961 advances, 525 declines and 460 unchanged stocks showing mixed sentiments in the market. The BSE #Midcap Index is trading marginally down by 0.06% at 15,491, while BSE #Smallcap Index is trading marginally up by 0.45% at 16,208. There is some buying activity seen in the Capital Goods, Auto and Realty while some selling activity is seen in Healthcare, Metal, IT and Telecom sectors on BSE. Ambuja Cements, Bosch, ACC, IOC and Power Grid are among the gainers, whereas Sun Pharma, Indiabulls Housing Finance, Adani Ports, Hindustan Unilever and Vedanta Limited are losing sheen in the #Nifty50 index.
The 30-share #BSE #Sensex was up 161.74 points at 31,892.23 and the 50-share #NSE #Nifty gained 56.50 points at 9,974.40. Analysts feel historically the September has been trend month for the market that is closer to its record high; hence it will be interesting month to watch out for. They don't rule out new highs in current month. The broader markets outperformed benchmarks not only today but for the entire week. The Nifty #Midcap and BSE #Smallcap indices gained more than 1 percent today on positive market breadth and rallied over 3 percent for the week. #Equity benchmarks continued to consolidate ahead of expiry of November derivative contracts on Thursday. The 30-share #BSE #Sensex was down 23.97 points at 33,700.47 and the 50-share #NSE #Nifty fell 4 points to 10,395.50. The broader markets continued to outperform benchmarks as the BSE Midcap index was up 0.3 percent and Smallcap gained 0.5 percent. About two shares advanced for every share falling on the BSE.
