The S&P #BSE #Sensex is trading at 31,858 up 128 points, while #Nifty is trading at 9,951 up 33 points. A total of 61 stocks registered a fresh 52-week high in trade today, while 12 stocks touched a new 52-week low on the NSE. The BSE #Midcap Index is trading up 0.73% at 15,652, while BSE #Smallcap Index is trading up 0.83% at 16,124. Some buying activity is seen in Pharma, Realty, Pharma, Auto, while Information Technology, Telecom are showing weakness on BSE. Dr Reddy’s, Lupin, Aurobindo Pharma, Bajaj Auto and Sun Pharma are among the gainers, whereas TCS, HDFC, Power Grid, IOC and Hindustan Unilever are losing sheen on #NSE. #ClosingBell: #Equity benchmarks closed higher for second consecutive session Friday, backed largely by banks and other index heavyweights. The 30-share #BSE #Sensex was up 89.24 points to 29,421.40 and the 50-share #NSE #Nifty gained 21.70 points at 9,108. The BSE #Midcap Index closed down by 0.03% at 13849 whereas, the BSE #Smallcap Index closed up 0.3 at 14077.

Opening Bell : Benchmark indices extended losses in morning trade with the Sensex falling nearly 200 points, weighed by banking & financials, technology, infra and oil stocks. The broader markets underperformed benchmarks with the BSE Midcap and Smallcap indices losing 0.9 percent and 0.8 percent, respectively on weak breadth. About three shares declined for every share rising on the exchange. The 30-share BSE Sensex was down 180.65 points at 26061.73 and the 50-share NSE Nifty fell 58.25 points to 8003.05. Fall in global peers also weighed on sentiment. Asian shares lost ground amid thinner pre-holiday trade, after the Dow failed to reach the 20,000 mark overnight.

Closing Bell : Benchmark BSE Sensex and NSE Nifty ended the day on a flat note with marginal gains. The 30-share Sensex closed 18.69 points up at 28,372.23, while Nifty 50 index settled 11 points up at 8,726. The broader markets outperformed smartly, rising over a percent. About 1742 shares advanced against 965 declining shares on the BSE. Banking stocks contributed the most to index recovery. Reliance Capital and Jain Irrigation were top F&O Gainers whereas Castrol and Just Dial were top Losers. Except IT and TECk all other BSE Sectors have ended up in positive zone. BSE Midcap has gained 1.34%, while BSE Smallcap has gained 1.21% hike today.

Closing Bell : Late recovery helped the 50-share NSE Nifty close the October series above psychological 8600-mark, driven by index heavyweights ITC, ICICI Bank and HDFC Group stocks. Equity benchmarks outperformed global peers as well as broader markets. The BSE Sensex was up 79.39 points at 27915.90 while the NSE Nifty closed flat at 8615.25 after hitting an intraday high of 8624.85 and low of 8550.25. The broader markets remained under pressure with the BSE Midcap and Smallcap indices falling 0.8-1 percent on negative breadth. About 1601 shares declined against 1063 advancing shares on the exchange.

Opening Bell : The market has opened on strong note Monday. The Sensex is up 155.79 points or 0.6 percent at 28021.75 and the Nifty is up 55 points or 0.6 percent at 8666.15. Maruti, Adani Ports, Eicher Motors, Tata Motors are gainers while ONGC, Wipro, Infosys, GAIL and PowerGrid are losers in the NSE. The Indian rupee rose in the early trade on Monday. It has opened higher by 7 paise at 66.54 per dollar. BSE Auto sector has gained 2.42% in the morning trading session, where SmallCap went by 2.01% and MidCap index hiked up by 1.69%. Almost all the BSE sectors are trading in positive zone.

#OpeningBell: #Equity benchmarks continued to consolidate in morning ahead the outcome of US Federal Reserve meeting due tonight. Investors also awaited more corporate earnings. The 30-share #BSE #Sensex was up 28.98 points at 29,950.16 and the 50-share #NSE #Nifty gained 14.85 points at 9,328.65.The broader markets continued to outperform benchmarks, with the BSE #Midcap and #Smallcap indices rising 0.4 percent each on positive breadth. About three shares advanced for every two shares declining on the exchange.

#OpeningBell : Benchmark indices as well as broader markets continued upside for third consecutive session, with the #Nifty inching towards 9350 ahead of expiry of April futures & options contracts due tomorrow. The 30-share #BSE #Sensex was up 126.08 points at 30,069.32 and the 50-share #NSE Nifty gained 37.35 points at 9,343.95 while the Nifty #Midcap and #Smallcap indices rose half a percent each. A total of 59 stocks registered a fresh 52-week high in trade today, while 16 stocks touched a new 52-week low on the NSE. There are 1114 advances, 391 declines and 434 unchanged stocks on NSE reflecting a positive tone in the market. The BSE #MidCap Index is trading up 0.51% at 14978, while BSE #SmallCap Index is trading up 0.70% at 15850. Some buying activity is seen in Power, Auto, Bankex and Capital Goods, meanwhile, IT, telecom and Oil & Gas are showing weakness on BSE.

Benchmark indices remained higher amid volatility in morning, with the #Nifty inching towards 8450 level on consistent buying in banks, technology and FMCG stocks.

The BSE Midcap and Smallcap indices gained more than 0.6 percent on positive breadth. More than two shares advanced for every share falling on the exchange.
