This little girl was about 3 years old and just learning to stand...on a Boogie board at Anahola Beach. You can see her Dad at the back of the board. She was sooo excited when she stood up on it the first time. There was a fairly strong rip tide so poor old Dad got his exercise. Babe was fearless!! Had to share this. It was such fun to watch. I got more sun than I had bargained for!!

These brooches are part of a production range I made as part of a series of jewellery based on the theme: Organic Modular Structures, while also experimenting with the relationship between textiles and metal. The shape originated from a hexagon shape with tabs which i was using for riveted silver forms, but it makes a nice flower form.

Taken Alners Gorse, Dorset. I have always found it a challenge to identify the ESSEX from the SMALL SKIPPER, its not always easy to see the black tip on the antenna of the ESSEX. Today at Alners I was able to photograph both skippers (or should I say I believe I have) Included are two shots of each butterfly
And the air was full of Thoughts and Things to Say. But at times like these, only the Small Things are ever said. Big Things lurk unsaid inside. - Arundhati Roy (The God of Small Things)
I am grateful for the small things in life, because for me it is the small things that make life worth living. Seeing a flower on a beach, some pebbles, or the small acts of kindness that I witness all the time amongst friends, especially the friends I have made through Flickr, these small things add up to something very big and special indeed.
