Sliders Sunday.
The clouds kept drifting over the sun, interfering with the lighting I was hoping for on various shots. Sliders to the rescue on this image from my On This Date archives.

Happy Sliders Sunday
Brightness and contrast.
I am continuing with my snail project as long as I can conjure up ideas. This project has been good for me in so many ways, it has helped me think ahead and visualize a final image. I have learned patience and tolerance in working with the snails. It has sparked something within me and I get excited to share my photos and proclaim that I am a photographer where before I only mentioned it to a few people. My manual dexterity has improved by having to manipulate the props and I am learning and imagining how to craft backdrops and props. It is exciting to come up with new "stories" too.
PS baseball will be revisited, I want to figure out a better way to create the field and lay it out properly. I winged it this morning and it's not my favorite.
Thank you for visiting, commenting and sharing your ideas with me. Sorry to those who are sick of snails.
What are you working on that has you excited?
Sliders Sunday
I'm making Pavlova for dessert for Father's Day. So, I thought I'd use a fruit themed photo! This is another one of my creations from of my online Oil Painting program.
Here is another very old slide taken in 1958. My Dad shot this during a vacation we took that summer. This is in Noel, Missouri. Noel is in the far southwest corner of that state and situated on the Elk River. This town is considered the "canoe capital" of the Ozarks. It's well known as a great place for "float trips" down the Elk River and its tributaries the Big Sugar Creek and Indian Creek. One of the natural features of the area are the overhanging bluffs along U S Highway 71. I especially love the tree on the very edge of the bluff. As a kid In 1958 I thought it looked like a Christmas tree waiting to be decorated. I've found more recent photos of this spot on the internet, and in a few of them the tree appears to still be there. But, of course, it looks much more weathered than it did in 1958. I still remember Dad pulling over to the side of the road to take this shot.
Year: 1958
Film: Kodachrome (unsure of the ASA)
Camera: Kodak Retinette - Type 022
Lens: Schneider-Kreuznach 45mm 3.5
Pebbles on the beach but please don't ask exactly what I did to this one as I can't remember!

GUILD GUITAR Company

This photo was taken on 5-18-14 it is on the West Fork Trail part of Oak Creek Canyon in Sedona,AZ.
On 5-20-14 a fire started in the Slide Rock area which is also part of Oak Creek Canyon. Report's that the fire has cross into West Fork and it is now at 5,000 ACRES that have burned. Sadly this is some of the most beautiful land that is on fire. SAD

I now have three chrysalis at the top of my aquarium and one in a J stage. There’s a few more down at the bottom still eating.
