The wonderful Cotswold village of Lower Slaughter (Slaughter comes from the Anglo-Saxon 'Slough' meaning 'Muddy Place").
Hey we didn't get it all but, I know for a fact if it wasn't circled it wouldn't have been seen. We had a hard time seeing it as it was.
Normandale Archaeology class visiting Slaughter Slough neat Lake Shetek in Southwestern Minnesota. Many people died or were captured here on August 20, 1862 during the Dakota Conflict.
Upper Slaughter and Lower Slaughter are two of the prettiest villages in the Cotswolds.
The name of Slaughter has no connection with blood but is derived from the old English word Slohtre meaning a muddy place, which it may once have been but not anymore. :-)
I spent two wonderful days in Cotswolds with my beloved husband and loved the place very much.
I feel like I am falling in love with English countryside! :-)

A bullpup version of my Plasma Slaughter. Inspired by artist named Gia. Found his/her works on danbooru. It's a plasma based rifle with a blade attached on front. Few places might seem wierd or wrong, but this is exactly how I want it.
This funeral statuette depicts oxen being slaughtered. At the funeral ceremony, during the ritual of opening the mouth, the deceased was offered the foreleg and heart of a bovine as a sacrifice. Through them, the deceased would gain strength for the afterlife. During the ritual of opening the mouth, the priest would touch the mouth of the deceased with various instruments. Thus restoring the senses and bodily functions of the deceased - functions they would need in the afterlife.
