The village of Upper Slaughter in the Gloucestershire Cotswolds is one mile away from Lower Slaughter and resides on a gentle grassy slope above the stream that connects the two villages.
Once the village was dominated by a Norman castle but all that can be seen of it today are the remains of the motte and bailey.
The building that dominates Upper Slaughter is the beautiful gabled Manor House which is one of the finest buildings in the area. The oldest part of the house dates from the 15th century but the front is Elizabethan. The Manor is now a hotel.
This weeks #ResidentofEIU is Mariah Slaughter! Mariah is from Atwood, IL and majors in Anthropology & Entrepreneurship. She currently serves as Lincoln Hall’s public relations coordinator, a member of the Sociology Anthropology club, and is a resident hall tour guide. She said, “Being involved on campus has truly shaped my experience here at EIU, my schedule is always full and I can always find something to do.” Mariah likes living on campus because it has provided her with relationships that she wouldn't have found anywhere else. When asked what advice she would give future Panthers she said, “Stay in school! And everyone says it, but get involved because you will only regret not doing it sooner!” Thanks Mariah for all your work! We see bright things in your future! Riverside, Lower Slaughter, Gloucestershire (Grade II listed). Two cottages (C17 and C18) combined into one, coursed rubble limestone, stone slate roofs with ashlar end chimneys; mix of 17th- and 18th-century mullioned windows retained.

People enjoying with the slaughtered sheep. Bhayar Puja is a occation in which the family members of same clan enjoy worshipping the Gods Goddes, Fore fathers and every thinkgs there in surrounding. This is a typical tradition of Nepali folks.
