Na passage van de 22400 met haar ter bleven we nog even hangen. De zon zou hopelijk nog even boven de horizon blijven. We wachtten er nog een goederentrein af. Niet wetende dat het dezelfde trein betrof die we een dag eerder al in knappe meteorologische omstandigheden konden vastleggen, wachtten we vol ongeduld het sluiten van de overweg in de verte af. De laatste 10 minuten begon iedereen wat zenuwachtig te worden want deze trein had al even door moeten zijn en ondertussen bleef de zon genadeloos zakken.
Op het moment van nu-of-nooit sloot de overweg zich alsnog. Even later kwam de 7358 de tunnel uit en kon de witte slang van busjes langs het meer van Bourget bewonderd worden. Ook de visser die een half uurtje eerder zijn fuik had uitgezet, kwam deze ophalen op het moment dat de trein nog maar 3 portalen verwijderd was van de fotografen.
Zoals deze trein één van de mooiste zomeravond mocht afsluiten, wil ik graag met deze foto het jaar 2025 afsluiten. Ik wens iedereen een gelukkig nieuwjaar. Én dat 2026 even goud mag worden als deze zilverkleurige 7358 in het laatste licht!

"Arse about face" is rather vulgar but common UK slang for something that is back-to-front and the opposite to what it should or is expected to be. I think Americans might say "ass-backwards" as an equivalent. That pretty much sums up much of the world at the moment!
"The Big Yin" is Scots for "the big one" and the Glaswegian comedian, Billy Connolly, is know as The Big Yin.

Cockney rhyming slang is a form of phrase construction in the English language that is especially prevalent in dialectal English from the East End of London. The construction involves replacing a common word with a rhyming phrase of two or three words and then, in almost all cases, omitting the secondary rhyming word (which is thereafter implied), in a process called hemiteleia, making the origin and meaning of the phrase elusive to listeners not in the know.
Examples: apples and pears = stairs, dog and bone = phone. In my example cream crackered = knackered.

Definitely not used here in America something I often forget and I receive some strange looks when I use it. For those not in the know knackered is tired.
