Our ISB fifth grade Flat Classroom Sounding Board students requested a Skype conversation with High School Flat Classroom participants. Thankfully Anne Mirtschin's class in Australia agreed to share their experiences with us!

I haven't had much time to play with my dolls lately (moving houses can be quite stressing and tiresome), and I still haven't found a good place to take photos here, but just wanted to post a picture of brand new Skype (customized by Obvious Zebra).
Thanks to Skype, people can see what other people are doing. I use Skype on a daily basis because I love talking to my family, since they live in Texas, Skype allows me to see how they are doing.
As I bought a Skype computer (webcam build in the laptop) I realized it was very convenient to send SMS through Skype. Haven't really used it for phoning though. But with the new betaversion of Skype, every phone number on the screen is now a skype button so that I can instantly call using skype. This is when using firefox.
Hablando con fidojones.com por skype. Los dos micros funcionan a la vez. Los altavoces son los del fondo. No es calidad polycom, pero es un manos libres bastante funcional. ;)
I'm testing out the Everyman headset on an iPad using USB adapter and
Skype. Works great. I called my mom and she didn't complain about
sound quality.

The future is now
we got this Skype gizmo hooked up so that we could talk to Hope who is attending college far way on the other side of the United States.
It reminded of the 1964 World Fair in NYC. I remember an exhibit by Bell telephone that claimed that some years in the future we would be able to to communicate face to face with our loved ones over long distances. What is next? "Beam me up Scotty"
