Happy Fence Friday

Nighttime capture taken along Skyline Drive in Virginia.

The whole time we were bear hunting on Skyline Drive we were in and out of the fog. Here was something cool that we observed. The wind from the valley was pushing the fog up and over the ridge and it was awesome to watch it! You can just see what the view might have been like without the fog. As for bears, there are between 200 and 1000 estimated bears in the park or about 1-4 bears per square mile. We haven't spotted one yet this year but plan to keep trying! LOL

I went up to Shenandoah National Park on this rainy morning to give my D850 some much needed attention. I was hoping to have gotten in some hiking, but the rain came if fast and hard, so I decided to stay along the roadside so my camera wouldn't get too wet.

**Photographer note; I am a bit upset with myself because I was handholding while shooting this image, and now I wish I had spent more time to have gotten the tripod and umbrella out so I could've shot at f/8 and gotten that third boulder in focus. I suppose I shouldn't beat myself up too much since I was standing on the "Drive" at a bend and even though this looks flat I basically was shooting almost in line with the rocks.

This shadow drew my attention, and looked great reaching into the Skyline Drive there in Virginia.

While drove thru Skyline drive in 1988, found this beautiful scene and took it with Canon Canonet QL17 Film Camera

Was driving around Shenadoah National Park today when out of no where clouds rolled in, creating some pretty dramatic scenes. We stumbled across this old tree and couldn't not take some creepy photos here!
