Quiraing, Isle of Skye

Definitely didn't do this place justice, which only means one thing! I certainly wouldn't object to waking up to this view again.

You can just make out the Dubh Ridge on the right, which 12 of us women ascended a few days before. A day that will stick in the memory. As will discovering a tick on my backside on the last day, and one of my poor companions having to extract it 😳

The Quiraing again - Quite a place! Memories of The Isle of Skye, Scotland

We're having breakfast at the Annandale Water services , after a great night at my brother's pad in the Lakes. We're Separated by motorways, by the Long Blondes, from the Isle of Skye and beyond. we normally camp with this view on the Trotternish Peninsula, but tonight we'll be camping at the top of the beach at Hosta , North Uist, all being well.

Isle of Skye, Scotland, at ridiculous-o-clock, on the Quiraing walk.

Beautiful evening waiting for the sun to set and when it did the whole sky lit up with tremendous colours What a beautiful place

The eternal God is thy refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms.

(Deuteronomy 33:27)

This point-and-shoot photo of the Isle of Skye was taken in 2006. The island lies off Scotland's north-west coast. It is the largest island of the Inner Hebrides, and is joined to the mainland by a bridge.

The weather here has been a bit dismal lately and has been reflected in the last few photos in my stream. However, the sun came out today and I got to do my favourite thing!

So...here's a sunny photo, with the gorgeous little Skye

The Isle of Skye has wonderful dramatic scenery

Quite a busy shot this of one of the many falls near the fairy pools on the Isle of Skye.

The Isle of Skye, connected to the northwest coast of Scotland by a bridge, is known for its wild landscapes, picturesque fishing villages and medieval castles. The largest island in the Inner Hebrides archipelago, it has a rugged coastline of peninsulas and narrow lochs, radiating out from more mountainous inland areas. The town of Portree, the starting point for exploring the island, has shops and seaside pubs.

I've had little chance to go out lately so I've been looking through the archives. This was taken last March. Looking forward to a return visit to Skye in a few weeks times.

Up at the Quiraing in the north of the Isle Of Skye. An amazing place and very difficult light.

This monument consists of the remains of a medieval tower and an area around it.

The very fragmentary condition of the castle - only the N and S walls have masonry standing to any great height - makes interpretation of the building difficult. It is a simple rectangular tower which appears to have had its entrance on the first floor with access to the ground-floor cellar being from above. The tower rose to a second floor with the third floor being a garret at wall head level.
