Qui-Gon to Anakin: Remember, concentrate on the moment. Feel, don't think. Trust your instincts.

Charcoal is not my favourite medium - like pastels, it's messy and tends to blur the image. This dragon turned out fairly clear, though, so I'm sharing it.
Did you feed us tales of deceit?
Conceal the tongues who need to speak
Subtle lies and a soiled coin
The truth is sold, the deal is done
But don't despair this day, will be their damnedest day
-Portishead, "Cowboys"
I whipped this up in about ten minutes, pencil and pen. Jazzed it up in about two minutes with GImp.
For Macro Mondays #motion blur theme
These colour trails were created by spinning wood-effect pencils on a circular lazy susan (serving platter). I had to crop quite strongly, as the camera had to be high enough to allow the pencils and platter to rotate.
The motion is seen through the colour trails, as well as in the grain of the wood, causing circular patterns. The pencils themselves have the appearance of not moving, as I held the focus momentarily before the movement started.
