Melt Festival 2016 is one of the most distinctive rock and pop festivals in Europe. Its reliably huge lineup is known for producing one or two surprises, with the likes of Kylie Minogue and Sven Väth lining up alongside each other at 2015's edition.
The Gremminer Lake is dissected by the Ferropolis peninsula, setting the spectacular machinery of the old mine against a stunning natural landscape and lending a whole heap of individuality to the festival.
Melt Festival 2016 is famous for its all night music, with festivities running until around 7am each morning.
Meanwhile, the Sleepless Floor stays open from the minute the festival site opens until the very end.
A flickering sea of lights, pulsating beats and beaming faces as far as the eye can see – the City of Iron awakes again. Three days of pure musical euphoria lie ahead of us in July. Hot newcomers and international heroes grace the stages below the breathtaking coal mining diggers of days gone by, hosting debaucherous gigs and parties breaking the boundaries between quiet and loud, electro, hip hop and indie, mainstream and subculture.
Melt! started out as a small stronghold for rave lovers and techno enthusiasts at the quaint Bernsteinsee Velten in 1997, relocating to Lärz Airport in 1998 until it turned Ferropolis into a shining beacon of light in 2000 and became a major force on the international festival circuit.
While headliners like Disclosure, Deichkind, Tame Impala, Two Door Cinema Club, Boys Noize (live) and many others rock the Melt! Stage, this year’s edition of the festival has many more things up its sleeve. True to the motto ‘more variety, more freedom, more water, more chilling’, the 2016 Melt! Festival will be a larger, even more motley adventure playground than ever before – with everything a festival-goer could possibly want.
Check out the new Block Party for food, arts, culture (and of course music) of various genres, or the Forest for an open-air restaurant, cinema and hammocks, a place to come down and relax. Right next to it is Gremmin Beach – formerly Melt! Selektor – with Solomun, DJ Koze and Black Coffee, et al. Swimming and skinny dipping are strongly encouraged here – the beautiful sunsets and sunrises practically demand it.
Overall the grounds offer many more places to relax and get away this year, with more points of access to Lake Gremmin than in the past; for the first time, you and your crew have access to many areas once reserved for festival production staff.

The iconic home of Melt! is a recovered opencast coal mine in the east of Germany, between Leipzig and Berlin. The site's towering cranes and iron machinery give Ferropolis its name, as well as furnishing the festival with a memorable backdrop.

X Music Festival 2016 is Cardiff's biggest dance music festival held within the former grounds of Cardiff Castle, Bute Park, each June. The festival currently runs for two days across 4 stages, and has a capacity of 32,000, making it Wales' biggest music festival!

Way Out West Festival Sweden 2016, the scenically attractive Swedish festival, welcomes artists from the worlds of rock, pop, urban and electro into its idyllic parkland setting in south west Gothenburg.
Spread over five stages, a huge variety of food stalls, bars and a duck-filled lake, festival-goers spend their days kicking back in the sun, before spilling out into the city's bars and clubs for the infamous Stay Out West afterparties.
Way Out West Festival Sweden 2016 isn't just about music though, with the festival also playing host to film screenings, art exhibitions and lectures to feed your minds as you recapture your energy before the party starts again.
The first festival was held in August 2007 in Slottsskogen on Friday and Saturday and at club venues on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights. In 2012 the festival became a full-fledged three-day festival with live music in Slottsskogen even on Thursday. In addition to music, the festival has also grown to incorporate other cultural activities such as art exhibitions in Slottsskogen and film showings at cinemas around the city.
Way Out West Festival Sweden 2016 has had a strong focus on being environmentally friendly and was the first festival in Sweden to become KRAV-certified.
Citing environmental reasons, the festival announced on the evening before the first day of the 2012 festival that all food served to artists, staff and visitors during the festival would be vegetarian. This decision led to a furor of reactions, both positive and negative.
The debate culminated with the Gothenburg tabloid GT giving away free sausages and meatballs outside the festival entrance - a move that resulted in a Twitter dispute between the festival's press chief Joel Borg and GT editors that was highlighted by the Swedish media.
The festival has won both national and international awards including: Gyllene Hjulet's 2012 Rights Holder for the Way Out West brand, Resumé's Monthly Outdoor Marketing Campaign, as well as the Most Innovative Festival at the MTV O Music Awards.

Tyrone Lindo (born 16 November 1985), better known by his stage name Big Narstie, is an English singer, rapper and MC. He started his career in 2002 as a member of grime crew N-Double-A, though he is better known for his solo work and as an internet personality.
In 2006, Big Narstie signed to independent label, Dice Recordings. His track "Brushman" was also named RWD magazine's "Song of the Year". Sampling Coldplay, it was one of the first grime/indie tracks to be supported by personalities from multiple mainstream radio stations.
Big Narstie has featured on records including Professor Green's "Before I Die Remix" and N-Dubz's "N-Dubz vs N.A.A",[4] from their debut album Uncle B. Big Narstie continued to record and released BIG NARSTIE three other mixtapes: Mind of a Fat Guy, Drugs and Chicken, and I'm Betta Than U, which had guest appearances from Giggs, Scorcher, and Wretch 32.
in 2010 Big Narstie released his first mix CD of the year in February 2012, called Pain Overload. Shortly after, Pain Is Love was released in July for free download via SB.TV. Big Narstie's first official E.P, #PAIN was released in October and entered at number 5 in the iTunes UK Hip Hop chart and he won the 2012 Urban Music Award (UMAs) for Best Grime Act beating artists like Skepta, Lethal Bizzle and Dot Rotten.
In 2013, Big Narstie released his second EP Don't Fuck Up the Base. The EP Big Narstie was the highest selling grime EP of 2013. He also had a Don't Fuck up the Base EP launch party,[10] which featured music artists, Flirta D, Mic Righteous, Scrufizzer, Kozzie and DJ's, DJ Cameo, Charlie Sloth, DJ Logan Sama.
He performed at a number of festivals across Europe including The Wireless Festival, A Day In Dam with English Frank and Black The Ripper, the Hip Hop Kemp Festival in Czech Republic and The Outlook Festival in Croatia. He also won UMA 2013 Best Grime Act award for the second year in a row. At the end of 2013 he released an EP Hello Hi. with True Tiger. Noisey named Big Narstie as their name of 2013. and he also reviewed the year at Fact magazine.
In 2014, Big Narstie released What's the Story Brixton Glory Part II, where he covered various Britpop classics by artists such as Oasis. He then embarked on the Base Defence League (BDL) Tour around the UK, which had a host of music artists supporting him.
Big Narstie was featured in Craig David's single, "When the Bassline Drops", which was released on 27 November 2015.[18] The song saw commercial success, entering the UK top 10 and being certified Gold. In 2017 he rapped on the Enter Shikari single "Supercharge".
In 2017, Big Narstie appeared on The Big Fat Quiz of the Year in a team with Katherine Ryan.
Big Narstie was caught up in controversy in 2018 during an episode of Britain's Got More Talent when he was seen to be pushing contestant Robert White during a live show.
Away from music, Big Narstie has featured in the Channel 4 sitcom Dubplate Drama alongside N-Dubz and Shystie. He has also had a guest appearance in the films Anuvahood and London State of Mind. He is set to appear in the series Krish and Lee and the film Rise of the Foot Soldier 2. From 29 June 2018, he will host The Big Narstie Show.
Big Narstie is also known for his YouTube videos including his parody agony aunt style series Uncle Pain.
This custom rig was made for the centre piece for UK grime artist Skepta. It had CCTV's added to it and was the stage center piece for Skepta's Glastonbury Pyramid stage performance.
