I felt I had to take a photo of this. The contrast struck me; a sign displayed in the front door window protesting the unpopular water charges in the idyllic neighbourhood of Strawberry Beds in Dublin city’s rural Liffey basin.
The level of anger about the imposition of Water Charges was widespread.
The Siteserve company came to public attention in discussions about the awarding of a contract to install water meters in peoples’ homes
Independent TD and one of the founders of the Social Democrat party Catherine Murphy received heavily-redacted documents through the Freedom of Information (FOI) Act.
The documents show that officials at the Department of Finance were concerned about the Siteserv deal.
