I shot this a while back, but it seems like an apt image for the times, here in DC...

I am slowing down
As the years go by
I am sinking
So I trick myself
Like everybody else
The secrets I hide
Twist me inside
They make me weaker
So I trick myself
Like everybody else
I crouch in fear and wait
I'll never feel again
If only I could remember
Anything at all
U97514 leads empty common hoppers north toward Russell. L&N's former "LB" Lebanon Branch main headed west thru this tunnel toward the Nashville/Louisville main stem. Truncated around 1988 the line now only goes to a Lime Stone quarry at Mt Vernon (about 8 miles away)...
Sorry I have not been visiting everyone as often as I would like...family matters keeping me too busy...Have a wonderful weekend!
Macro Monday's and the theme of "Circles".
After missing several weeks over the last three or four months I decided to start thinking about the current weeks theme much earlier than /i usually do. As we greatly needed a Sink Strainer and that this also contains circles I bought one to use both in the kitchen and in the camera.
As well as just photographing it I decided to add to the photo and pour water over it during the exposure. The settings for an ambient exposure meant that without raising the ISO too much then the water was a blur along with a mist like quality so I employed the use of flash which meant that a smaller aperture was possible along with a sharper image.
Access to barbers and hair salons has been quite limited of late. Necessity being the mother of invention, my partner and I have started trimming each other's hair. . . with mixed results.
El Delta del Ebro en un lugar único que no me caso en visitar, donde podemos encontrar barcas hundidas, redes de pescadores, increíbles amaneceres y atarderes.
Delta del Ebro is a unique place that I never tire of visiting, where we can find sunken ships, fishing nets, amazing sunrises and sunsets.
Being by the sea and watching the sun sinking below the horizon is such a peaceful experience . This sunset was taken on Agonda Beach, Goa. I feel a sense of calm just looking at it.
There are few things I have a super soft spot for..Fog is one of them. It is rare to see it in Ireland specially in the hours I am unable to get to it.
Here is a fog hunting from Italy. The sun was setting about four times. Each time it dunked into the fog, then the fog came bellow it and over and over again.
Amazing to watch amazing to witness.
Last light on the Fylde Coast of Lancashire and an exceptionally low Spring tide.
This was the perfect opportunity to walk out on the exposed sands and explore the remains of the shipwrecked "Abana".
The "Abana" was a large 1,257 ton wooden "barque" vessel flying under a Norwegian flag. She was built in St John, New Brunswick, Canada and was sailing from Liverpool to Savannah, Georgia USA in December 1894 when she was caught in a storm in the Irish Sea. Hers sails were ripped to shreds in the strong winds and she drifted landwards. The ships crew mistook Blackpool Tower for a lighthouse and she eventually ran aground off Little Bispham.
The crew of 17 and the ships dog were all rescued by Blackpool's lifeboat. The ships bell and the dog were given to the landlord of the "Cleveleys Hotel" who had first raised the alarm and summonsed the lifeboat!

Last night I dreamt again of being in the woods, of sitting down against the trunk of an old oak tree and just being still, as still as possible, until my heartbeat became one with that of the tree, and my toes became roots that plunged deep into the earth to where spirit and flesh and bone became part of the igneous processes. Rebirth, transformation, metamorphosis happen in the depths? In the dark. I have never been one who is content to just hover on the surface of things. The surface isn’t where mountain-building takes place... #confinementjournal #confinementart #rebirth #renewal #mypoetry #hope #healing #mystery #wonder #spirituality

First of all many thanks for all you kind comments and faves on my shot last night , " Seabed to sky " www.flickr.com/photos/17469730@N00/29452638020/in/datetak... Which has made explore.
This is a shot from later in the evening just as the sun was on it`s way down .
As the bay tide waters rises and lowers she still manages to stay afloat barely, sometimes more but often times less is visible to the eye now.
Her faith & pride are now long gone. But once she sailed proudly with her bow held up high. And she could hold her own and did so for many years working hard until time & people gave up on her. Is this, whats it's like to grow old and useless?
But soon... she'll be with us no more as she slowly slips beneath the waters.......
