What can be said about the popular carnation? It is durable and lovely with a faint scent that makes it a flower for all occasions.
Found this in a folder on my computer. I took it sometime last week and hadn't uploaded it yet. I wasn't going to either, but I decided I liked it enough.
I think this may actually be my new favorite.
I'm not quite sure what happened to the father here or if wood duck fathers don't stick around but I haven't seen him since the little ones were born.

Captured 6 July at Vegkop near Heilbron.
Captured using my ZWO ASI1600MC-cool and Rokinon 135mm lens. It was mounted on top of my modified Meade LXD75 mount. Optolong L-Pro used as a UV/IR cut filter.
All calibration,stacking and processing done in Pixinsight with some finishing touches in Photoshop.
My Pixinsight work flow is as follow:
Gradient correction,Colour correction with SPCC,BlurX(correct only),Starnet V2, Stretch the starless image with GHS,Apply colour masks and tweak with curves,
Create a synthetic luminance image and work on detail, Apply convolution to colour image, Add Lum layer to colour image, Stretch star image with some saturation and add back to starless image in Pixelmath.
