The SpaceShipOne (SS1) simulator was a motion-based trainer. In addition, the simulator utilized a flight representative cockpit with accurate pilot controls. Those controls drove which determined the vehicle position and inputs expected by the avionics. The vehicle's position and attitude were sent over a network to 12 display computers, which utilized commercial graphic software to generate outside views. These views were sophisticated computer flight model, displayed on 11 monitors and 1 projector Screen positioned around the cabin.
